The Mojave Scissor Snare is a great trap to learn, not necessarily because it is more efficient or any better than any other snare, but because it is very involved and will challenge your skills as a bushcrafter and knowledge and a survivalist. It involves many moving parts and pieces, but when it works, it works really really well and is a lot of fun to setup. In this video, I am featuring the Nature Reliance School Shemanese (or "Long Knife") built by LT Wright Knives.

Part of the learning process is to get out there and practice setting up these types of traps and snares, but remember: snares and traps come with an inherent danger as they may snap back on you or those around you. Be aware of your surroundings, practice common sense, and this video is for entertainment not educational purposes. (Disclaimer is down below)

James! Thank you so much! I'm so happy you enjoyed it. Usually, I don't have a camera operator, but this time, I got lucky. It's amazing how much better the video turns out.

So awesome to see you get a chance to get out and use the Shemanese. I got mine a couple of months ago and it has quickly become one of my favorites.

Thank you! And I’m so happy to hear you’re enjoying yours. It’s a great knife from a great guy and a great company. Haha! To be 100% transparent, I filmed this video spring of 2020. Only just realized I either forgot to upload it or somehow it got deleted.

@@Canadian_Craftsman It's in that nice "in-between" of being long enough to handle pretty much anything and light enough to be comfortable to carry.
