This task was faster than I thought it would take. The digging was easy and I got the orchard terrace done quick. The soil felt very soft like sand but I thought I was going to have a big boulder rock garden but only came across very few.
Your Ranch in the end will be Outstanding and so Beautiful. You and your family are pouring your hearts and soul's into this and it show's BIG time. Great VL. Can't wait for the next 🙂 Be happy take care.
Great job, trees take three to five years to mature to bear fruit! Berries sometimes bear the first year but third year they shine! Don’t forget on bottom row to incorporate asparagus! Looks great!
Such a cool project mark! Maybe something to consider around the berry bushes on the shelf slopes, I've used lowbush blueberry sod for erosion control measures before in the landscapes we build. Would make an awesome addition to help stabilize the slopes and make it useful with fruiting!
I thought it was a few days of work. This is the crown jewel view on your property. A small fire pit area to enjoy the view and stars at night.Wow this seems so amazing. Enjoy the area for years. What about the deer they love munching on young trees.
WOW Marc, that's a heck of a days work. Well done and it's looking so much better already. You can really see what you're doing and your goal for the future. Stay safe you guys
It’s looking real good. It should be a fun addition to your grow area. You make working with that machine looks so easy, it’s like an extension of your arm. Fine job, sir.😊
Ha! I just looked at Google maps, which has apparently been updated to more recent satellite photos, and I can now see just about all the improvements you guys have made to the property. For both you and Red Poppy Ranch's (Heath's) property up the road from you. The satellite photos of this area were like 7 years old or older, and they apparently updated them. Might still be about a year or so behind, but it's nice to get a sense of the layout of your and Red Poppy Ranch's properties. You guys are doing great work! I thought you were literal next door neighbors with RPR, but there is apparently a property between you guys...
Check out Indiana Berry Company for your berry plants. I found them to be very reasonable in there pricing and easy to deal with. I enjoy keeping up with you and Heath with your post.
Hey Mark - Another excellent job well done! Since you and Ola are to plant fruit trees, would you consider keeping bee hives? They'd be great to pollinate the orchard and more, and the sale of Natural honey may be a plus for you. Just a thought 👍🏼
In 1996 I went with a church group to work with missionaries deep into the Amazon Rain Forest (Peru) To get there we journeyed overy the Andies Mountain range and the terrace work was amazing. So much that they were growing rice in some areas along with other crops. I'm excited to see this terrace work because it really is an exceptional use of land with the benefits of water management. Love your channel you make such a great team and the work is amazing. Thanks for sharing with us the journey. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/And%C3%A9n
Terrace building is a very basic hill site reclamation for field use.. Looks good.. Carry on Slope , machine , westher , precipitation , drajnage , soil type.. All are in motion...
The terrace looking awesome and the sky view of your property is amazing. It will look even more beautiful once you get the trees in. Thought I saw a ripper shank being pulled out of the ground by your excavator? Great job great video
Great job leveling out the terraces. With the topsoil layer looking thin, how will you be enrichening the soil to help whatever you plant there produce well? Looks like applying some hard facing rod to the spaces between the bucket teeth would really help extend bucket life, too.
Have you ever seen a documentary called "The Biggest Little Farm"? Your terracing project reminded me of that film. If you haven't seen it I highly recommend it. It's on youtube.
We have watched that documentary multiple times, I even requested all my kids to watch it as mandatory event for Mother’s Day last year. I see that vision here and want this beautiful little farm/life. ~Ola
I’m not intending to speak for Marc, but I think he said the difference is for the access, ie; equipment, side-by-side, importing mulch & soil amendments…
WE have a JUNK YARD and it needs TO GET CLEANED UP!! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-eQWHP1zVRsk.html Glad the junk was cleared before we got this project out of the way!!
