This is a 50" Casablanca Delta II ceiling fan in the Designer Gray finish, shown with a set of Designer Gray blades. The model number is 141313D and the serial number reads EB14364 which dates this fan to have been produced May 14th, 1992; being the 364th fan produced that day. This fan features a K-55 induction motor, 4/5 blade mounting configuration, and a 3-speed pull chain switch.
The late 80's were an interesting time in the ceiling fan industry, as designs became more intricate, so did finishes. 1986 saw the introduction to Casablanca's "Designer Finishes", a bold departure from the safe neutral tones of brasses, browns, and whites. This series of finishes included Ferrari Red, Gloss Black, Designer Gray, Decorator Mauve, and later Dusty Rose and Moroccan Sand. While some of these finishes were more popular than others, Designer Gray is still considered an uncommon finish and most likely sold in much lower quantities versus the white and brass finishes which still dominated the market at that time.
Overall the fan performs as well as any other Casablanca from that time period. Cosmetically this fan is in near mint condition, however the bearings are in serious need of replacement, as you can hear in the video (honestly, I’d recommend watching with the volume down). Due to the cold weather from when this was filmed and the poor condition of the bearings, the fan runs slower than should be expected, this also causes the much shorter spin down you will see towards the end of the video. Overall this is still a solid, quality made fan that just needs some minor repair. The airflow output is exceptional for a residential grade fan and while this finish is a product of its time, the neutral gray colors are timeless in itself.
