Cascade control is a control method that uses two or more controllers to control a single process. It is used when a variable that significantly impacts the primary controlled variable has a dynamic response that is much faster than the primary control loop. In cascade control, a secondary control loop, or "cascade loop," is used to control the fast-acting variable while the primary control loop continues to control the overall process. This allows for more precise control of the process and can improve overall performance.
