Cascade Lake, ID Yellow Perch Fishing 

WOW, I used to live in McCall just north of Cascade and used to fish the Cascade reservoir for Yellow Perch 34 years ago. This video brought back some memories.

The Army unit I was stationed with from Ft. Carson , Co went there for 30 days to help rehab some things for the US Forest service. Loved it , i caught one salmon on an Eagle claw fly rod/spin rod combo. The guy next to me caught a about an 18 inch rainbow on a cane pole... I think the campground facilitator had two part dingo dog. at that time.? That was in August 1983..We did do some whit water rafting on the Payette River.Thanks for the video.

On the video here it was said that the record perch caught on cascade was 11.68 pounds. Tia's perch was a record perch at 2 pounds 11.68ozs and not the world record but the world tip up record. The world record yellow perch was caught by Dr. C.C. About in Bordentown NJ in 1965.

This is an old video but I don't see going thru the trouble with all that gear when a small rod with a box of red worms and a single hook can get you perch all day.

What size reel is being used. He said to let the line out one pass: the amount of line let out will vary between a garcia 4600, 5600 and a 6600.Thanks

ERROR" MESSAGE" the record "PERCH" is 2pounds 11,68 ounces,,,,,,,,,,NOT 11POUNDS,,,,,our state record Largemouth is under 11 and smallmouth is under 10lbs.

How about a 3/4 ounce bottom walker weight......have you tried them....I guess you would need a crawler harness with a float....on my list for 2023

"way underutilized" definitely isnt the case 8 years later.. sad to see where the fishery is heading nowadays

Bob Schmidt, any relation to the Schmidt family in western Oregon? My Mom's side were Schmidts. Also, where can you purchase these darker wedding rings? All I can find online are yellow and orange of the same thing.

I know this is a older video but I would love to get a little more detail on the setup. Is the sinker sliding before the swivel or is it tied to the line? Is it about a 3 foot leader?

Have you fished these in other ways? Like a crappie rig with a minnow ? I'm interested in making a trip here . I have fished lake Erie for yellow perch .

11.68 lbs????????? Wrong! Her fish was 2 lbs 11.68 ounces! A walleye over 30 inches will weigh around 11 lbs. And there's no way a perch can reach that size

No such thing as an 11 1/2 lb yellow perch.

guy sure did a lot of teachin to not even catch 1 jumbo perch
