Not really. That's a very long stretch, unless she had been making plans to go backpacking in the NZ outback with him etc which doesn't seem very likely. I used to go to school in a building next to a sports stadium, we'd occasionally stroll around the stadium and hang out there. One time an anti olympic games nutbag blew up a bomb of sorts at one of the entrances to the stadium. It doesn't mean I nearly got blown up by a mad bomber dude. The stretch there is too far, like it is in your teachers case. If you're interested the stadium is Ullevi in Göteborg, Sweden, 1997, blast claimed by Vi Som Byggde Sverige, the school is Katrinelundsgymnasiet which is the building to the right of Ullevi if you stand looking at the front of the Stadium with the police station building behind you.

With a name like that I bet ya don't - jokes aside, most people do have a short chat. It's useful to know what's going on around you if you're in the middle of nowhere first of all, secondly any person you run into is likely to be the most dangerous thing out there, so getting a feel for them makes perfect sense. If you run out of soy sauce for your bushland sushi they will be your best option to ask for some.

Yes, it is a Swedish name. It's an o with two dots above. This was a nicely and compassionately told story about poor Heidi and Urban. My heart aches for them.

Also, I assume the narrator doesn’t know any of the people so will address them in a formal manner therefore give them their dignity!!!
