Hi. I have a 2294 that makes the power shifts 1,2,3. But it slips badly in 3rd and 4th range when power shifting. If you're in the mud in 2nd gear the wheels will eventually stop turning. Any idea?
If its slipping its probably the clutches internally it was a huge issue with them tractors fortunately for me I haven't had such issues mine are mostly electrical you could check the solenoids on the right side under the cab there's three of them check make sure the wiring is good and you can pull the nut off than pull the magneto off and see if it's still wound if so I'd say its probably the clutches and the tractor will have to be split to do that hopefully that sheds some light for you
You definitely need to take it to a shop that specializes in repairing case powershift. Get it fix now or you'll pay a bigger price. Case ih is too expensive. Not recommend. Just brought a 1270 a couple months ago and good thing I listened and shipped it out of state to WI. Now the 1270 is running new and strong with a rebuilt powershift...
And yes you need to come up with 10G$ it could range between $6000-$10000. Case IH is $10000-$15000. I'd call some implement/ tractor dealers besides CaseIH to find these people in your state or out of state that can repair the Powershift. Once it's repaired. It'll last a long time. To me just use the main Powershift. Don't shift it to 2nd or 3rd powershift. Reverse. Use gear1. That's my opinion.
