Best dozers ever made. I have run most all of them and once you get used to a Case you can do so much more work in a days time. The H series is definitely the best ones Ive had a 850H and a 580L TLB for 15 years for my personal use but I have worked with several construction companies over the years and I wouldn't trade them for any other brand.
@@Dirtdaddy953 You might want to look into the straight throw shifter conversion. One of the best things I ever done to my H. Forward to reverse in a straight short simple throw, it works so much better. If you are good with metal fabrication you can do it yourself and not cost hardly anything. I bought my kit but after I got to looking at it I thought I could have just saved myself a couple hundred bucks and made this myself. Keep up the good videos sir!
@@Dirtdaddy953 I ordered everything from Case bout 14 years ago, it might not be available now since they have been out of production so long. If you are not concerned with the safety/brake lock lever holding the shifter from moving then modifying the shifter cover is all you have to do. I bought the entire kit when I first got the dozer but the piece that holds the shifter broke after a couple years so I just left it off. Brakes still lock down anyway so I wasn't concerned with it. I will get some pics tomorrow or might even do a video if I have time and show you what to do. It makes a huge difference at the end of the day especially if your doing short distance work with alot of direction change and if you do it the way mine is set up it will be free except for a little cutting and welding.
I have a case 850h with a cab and ac. I bought a DECELERATOR kit to go on mine but couldn't really get it to work good. The Case dealer told me that these dozers have a good strong detent valve on the transmission. Said to just pull the hand throttle back and go from forward to neutral and then reverse and vise versa. I do use that alot and have not had any problems from that. May break something one day IDK. 👍 GREAT VIDEO!
Thanks for the complement! I've never checked to see if they even had such a thing as a decelerator...huh!! Just figured they didn't! Yeah, they say the transmission can handle the wide open throttle shifting. But, my concern has always been the final drives. I've had to work on the finals before on some of my past Case machines. So I would just be careful!
Pawpaw always said guys that love case love em, guys that don’t hate em, we’ve own an 850G since 1994 bought brand new, 14,000 hours later still starts after the touch of the key engine or transmission never been gone thru
I've got a 550 and 650g and a 550h and a 650l. The power shifts will out do the hystat every day. However the l is heavier and it gets the weight to the ground. Less spinning
Wow, you have several of the Case dozers...that's awesome! Yeah, I can see that with the L. My 850 will spin out way before it powers out. I do wish it was a little heaver.
Both my g machines have over 7k hrs on them and both still working everyday. I like the h because of visibility ect. Either way case is good equipment in my opinion from dozers to excavators
This is a great video, I just bought one going to pick it up this week, same exact control basically the same dozer. what do you think are some main things I need to look at before I officially buy it?
Which size dozer is it (850)? Some of the smaller ones (and even the 1150s) have the same controls. Look for excessive blowby from the engine, trans temp, trans slipping while pushing, engine temp. I would also pull fluid samples and have them sent off and checked to make sure they're ok. Cheap insurance on how the machine was taken care of.
Thanks for the video! Definitely explained it well! Can I make one more request? Could u make a video and kinda give us some background about u and ur company?
nut busters ...lol and you wounder why they changed the controls on newer models lol ( I am laughing with you not at you, because I happen to remember running those "nut buster" controls on alot of older machines that's a pretty accurate description )
Lol....If you've ever been running one of the older Case's and hit a stump. Then you'll understand where that name came from. I learned very quickly to put my seat belt on!😲😲😭 Thanks for the comment!!
That is the most bullet proof and toughest transmissions ever made, Case destroyed there dozers with the hystat. The hystat Case is trash. If Case made the transmission today, I would buy a new one tomorrow
