Bro u dont even know case keenum was our guy his first season was the best ive seen by far in a while i was hoping for another year with this guy idk what happed
Watching these highlights and realizing several of these throws where Keenum stood in the pocket and delivered a strike while taking a hit would have been sacks or turnovers if Cousins was in the exact same spot.
Stupid ass miracle shouldn't of even happened and I'm a Vikings fan. Way to give all of your fans a false hope and not even show up in the conference championship. At least in 2009 we had a real chance to win a damn Superbowl. Fake keenum
It is almost hard to believe that this highlight video is from only one season. Keenum made so many great plays that you would think this is a lifetime of highlights.
This dude had balls to sit in the pocket under heavy pressure and still somehow got the ball to his receivers. You can't teach that, he had so much faith in Diggs, Thielen and Rudolph. Just a shame we have up that much natural chemistry just to let the team fall apart a season later.
Keenum had a good offensive coordinator and team in general with the Vikings. Everyone hating on him for only having one good season. But he actually had a good team with the Vikings. Really wish we could’ve kept him
Still a Viking fan for life... don't know what to expect from them this year but what a year it was in 2017 with Keenum..anyone still look back and replay the game with the Saints..still gives me chills...SKOL
The throws he was making under pressure and the chemistry he had with the team was incredible, should have kept him and used the money to get a good OL instead of Cousins
@@theitguy2731 yeah ppl forget that that defense was #1 with a decent running game. Yeah keenum made some clutch plays but if he didn’t have that defense they wouldn’t of done much
I will miss Case. Dude is a baller and makes plays out of nothing. I will always cheer my Vikings but I will also always cheer Case. Denver got a great quarterback
Seahawks fan here. Me as well, and I will never understand the decision of the Vikings organization why that they not signing Case instead of Kirk Cousins. I mean Kirk is not bad, but never worth that 84 million. By far not..
His mechanics weren't perfect but damn he was fun to watch. He played like a gunslinger and just had fun. It's clear he knew that year was probably his only big chance so he put it all out there. Miss you 7
People laughed when the Skins picked him up, but did they watch this reel? Keenum has a ton of upside. He's savvy, stands in the pocket, has a very good arm and is actually quite a good runner when he wants to be. Give him weapons and he can be great. Let's go, Skins!
Listen, Keenum is rarely ever put in situations to win. Houston, the Rams, Denver, Washington all sucked ass. He was just the guy they shoved out there to complete the season, and he did fine. When he had a real team, he succeeded beautifully. But Zimmer was too much of a fuck to appreciate it. Hope the Vikings fire his stupid ass.
This makes me so sad man. I will probably never experience a vikings season like this ever again. Just felt like we were on another level, definitely the most fun I've ever had watching the vikings.
Baffles me that the Vikings let Keenum go for Cousins. Kirk Cousins passes the eyeball test as a prototypical passer, but he has no leadership skills, makes poor throws at the wrong time, is extremely expensive, and really nothing more than a garbage-time empty stat machine. Keenum on the other hand does not have the most talented arm, but had excellent awareness and elusiveness in the pocket which covered a lot of poor o-line play. He was effective at methodically moving the offense down the field and just had that “it” factor that meshed well with the players around him. He lead the Vikings to first in the division without Dalvin Cook the majority of the season, that’s impressive. Vikings should have signed Keenum to a three year deal and drafted their QB of the future... Lamar Jackson was well within their reach.
Everyone misses Keenum, I miss a #1 defense, a historic 3rd down defense, the Packers without Rodgers and the Bears without Khalil Mack (hint: Keenum wasn't the sole reason the Vikings went 13-3).
I've been trying so hard to fathom why the Vikings relinquished Case Keenum from the Vikings. Was it because of his performance during the Eagles? If so then that indubitably seems like a pride issue. "You won all those games but you didn't come through for us during the NFC championship game, sorry but we're reaching for a better option". Like really?? If you watch this video here and a video of Kirk Cousins' highlights the difference energy and sufficiency is undeniable. Case shows so much control while in the pocket, his eyes are sharp and alert and he his very vigilant of oncoming traffic giving him the ability to avoid collision and still make a play. And he throws bullet passes. Kirk Cousins, we appreciate all the efforts you have put forth this season with the Vikings (and this isn't to tear you down nor is this out of anger on my part) but for your length of being in the NFL your pocket awareness should have been much more sharper than what you displayed this season. You completed a decent amount of passes Kirk but you have to master this throwing the ball long and making it land at the right place which is near the hands of your receiver. Too many over throws. But I know enough people are criticizing you about this season but i'm not criticizing I'm just giving constructive criticism. The decision to give up Case Keenum after comparing stats and footage, highlights and weaknesses between Kirk and Case is just incomprehensible. I don't care how poorly Case played with the Broncos that's probably because he was more compatible with Minnesota, it's players and it's coaching. A second year with the Vikings and who knows where we would be right now probably on our way to the superbowl. And Keenum wasn't even our starting quarterback! Why not work with a man that shows that much competitiveness, makes that many plays and wins that many games?
Veezy Fortified Exactly, I don’t get it either. If Kirk Cousins doesn’t win a god damn Super Bowl in two years, then I am done being a Vikings fan and I will cheer for Keenum from now on.
@@leedrew1308 He went to a few terrible teams. I always hear the excuse that Cousins was on terrible teams in Washington. Yet, somehow that doesn't seem to be a valid excuse for Keenum, despite the fact that he lost his top two WR's early in his first season in Denver. And he's probably the best backup QB in the league right now in Cleveland.
I love me some Keenum. Odds are my Vikings will land Captain Kirk. Good luck to you Case Keenum, you are no longer a underdog. Take your success and run with it.
After years of being a career backup quarterback, Case Keenum had a very good year with the Minnesota Vikings in 2017. With a good head coach, very good offensive coordinator, 2 pro bowl wide receivers and a pro bowl tight end, Case Keenum played at or very near pro bowl level and had very good stats in 2017 and led the Vikings to the playoffs. Unfortunately, that was his only good season.
Upon further review: the Vikings did this man dirty. It’s really too bad Foles stole this magical season from Minnesota. The biggest disappointment of a season ever.
And fans had the nerve to blame Keenum for that loss. Zimmer and especially Shurmur were checked out in that championship game, Keenum didn't play well but he's not the reason they got spanked.
This video makes case look years better the Baker Mayfield.. Tell my Browns fans now Baker is our quarterback but if Case comes out ballin an the team looks fluid.. Baker could end up bein made to have that surgery sooner rather then later..
Awesome video reel! I've been so mad at The Vikings since they let Keenum and Diggs go! What is going on with the decision makers of this team? Their thinking was "Yeah, we got to the NFC Championship game with a back-up QB, let's get rid of him and way too many others, and hire Cousins, unproven in the playoffs, for way, way, way too much money, can't afford a good offensive line anymore, and then suck for the next few years and beyond. " Typical Vikings. WTF!
The only good year Keenum had, but man was it impressive! Not a Vikings fan but the way he would stay comfortable in the pocket and deliver dimes so consistently was elite. He clearly had so much chemistry and trust in the offense and it paid off almost making the Super Bowl. You guys should have kept him because in one year, he did more than Cousins ever did in four years.
Nope. That was Pat Shurmur the OC keeping things simple for Case. When you have the #1 defense you can afford to be vanilla on offense, because you're going to have plenty of chances to possess the ball. He had a great year and it was fun as a Vikings fan, but this highlight reel doesn't show all the hospital passes and near INTs that DBs just dropped. He was very fortunate to have that kind receiving talent around him. But there's a reason why he's been a journeyman backup for his entire career.
I come back here every once in a while to remember what we missed out on. Can’t believe we gave Kirk 3-year $84M fully guaranteed instead of resigning Case to a 1-year $18.4M contract. Disgusting. Hopefully Kwesi & Kevin will sign him someday as the veteran starter as a mentor for a rookie QB or something
The quality of play with this offense was amazing...catches, escapes, runs...just a pleasure to watch. Wouldn't it be something if somehow Keenum ended up back in MN.
If my Broncos don't get Cousins, which I don't think they will, I'd be fine with Keenum. He might play with a chip on his shoulder since the Vikings think his season was a fluke.
Vikings dont think his season is a fluke. Keenum is just asking too much for 1 good season (which the defense/WR's did most of the work). As a viks fan, Keenum will most likely do well next season where ever he plays. A lot of viks fans are 50/50 with whether or not they should keep him. He has some upside, but he tends to make a lot of risky throws, much of which leaves it almost too much of the WR's job to make the catch.
Its not mine or any other viks fans decision lol. How many Qb's lately have had one good season and started asking big bucks? Answer: Many of them. What happens to them the season after? They tend to play worse for whatever reason. What I'm getting at is he's gonna ask 24m or so, while Kirk has proved himself with multiple great seasons on a mediocre team and is only asking 5-6m more.
Fair enough. I think the reason QB's have bad season's after signing big contracts is because of the pressure of the expectations. Look what happened to Derek Carr. Keenum gets a big contract somewhere else, I think he will live up to it due to the motivation of basically being told his season was a fluke.
Dude look at how contempt Keemun is in the pocket and he has very good accuracy for a back up quarterback back I bet the Vikings regret not just giving him the money who’s to say case wouldn’t have had a breakout season the next following season after loosing to the eagles in the championship
@@arodgefan589 I understand where you’re coming from but that browns team had talent on offense, same with Denver. Definitely not as good as that Minnesota team but it was just an insanely miracle year for him in Minny. Plus our defense was equally insane
