Why did the Vikings not re-sign Case Keenum after the Minneapolis Miracle? - A Football Story 

As a Vikings fan, this has to be one of the biggest what if scenarios i play in my head from time to time. Great video

It broke my heart the Vikings didn't bring him back. Keenum always seemed to get the short end of the stick

Stupid Vikings mistake. Keenum was a fucken beast. No one’s perfect but the way he plays is way better than cousin.

This is a case of sometimes it's best to keep chemistry. Kirk Cousins is a good QB, but Case Keenum made that entire team gel together.

I agree that no one ever gave Keenum a real chance as they do actual draft picks. Keenum showed if giving a decent line and decent offensive weapons; he could be effective and a winning quarterback. In Denver; they only gave him one year and they should have gone 10-6 instead of 6-10 since two games were lost by missed field goals and the other two Keenum had them in the lead but the defense couldn't keep it. Also, the Broncos and injuries on both sides of the ball and they were still competitve. I think if he stayed another year they would have had a winning record and maybe even made the playoffs. Instead they let him go and went after Flaco, which was a disaster. With the Redskins he was a stop gap while Haskins waited in the wings, but Haskins never really developed. They should have stuck with Keenum and build with draft picks, which they did on defense and they would have improved as well. But like you said, it's one of the biggest what if scenarios that we'll never know.

The whole locker room and fan base was all in on Case and loved his scrambling gutz and dam-the-torpedoes leadership. If they kept Case...the Vikes could have then gotten Lamar Jackson in the 18' Draft over Mike Hughes... Hands down, just another massive knee-jerk mistake by Spielman and the Wilfs 🏈

The Vikings are cursed now for disrespecting the Minneapolis Miracle. That was a great TEAM. Kirk Cousins was fools gold. Bad move Vikes, now your jinxed.

The reason why is simple is Mike Zimmer hated every quarterback not named Teddy Bridgewater. After every victory that Keenum had that season Zimmer would crap all over him. Keenum bailed out Zim after his defense fell apart against the Saints with the Miracle. Then the Eagles destroyed Zimmer’s defense and they were not the same they still were ranked well but they weren’t as good.

Instead of paying Cousins a ton of money to be worst than Keenum, spend that money to get O Line help for Keenum and the Vikings could have won a superbowl.
