Good tip I would have to walk around to get boxes on pallet. Also u said u try to keep same like item boxes together, will start using that and see how it works out with medical supplies I pick
I just started at Sysco about 3 months ago along with my coworker. We’re both stuck at 70%-80% a night. Our supervisors have given us sloppy training but we’ve managed to thrive off of our other coworkers tips. Everything seems to hold us back, it takes so much effort to run a bill at 100%, I feel like we’re doing something wrong but we haven’t been able to figure it out.
I'm just going to shoot out a bunch of things that keeps selectors behind. Not meaning it's towards you... trouble building pallets...not comfortable on jack.....talking..... long breaks and lunch.... walking jack instead of riding between slots..... Just some ideas to think about.
Yeah I swear this is the problem I'm having as a freezer selector. I never started off with a trainer because of how short handed my building is and I've been here a month at c&s grocers stuck at 40% and nobody gives me tips because they're all trying to make their incentive so I just wing it. I get worse when we have to help perishables out
Great video but my problem is always everything that matches never in the same place so I’ll have a good base and still have more simply lemonade or stok tea to get or any more boxes this size and then I have to rearrange everything and now I got a brain fart
Please give me some help Tim!!! Im new to packing, where I'm at we mostly have to pack 2 3 an sometimes 4 different routes on 1 pallet...could use some tips on how to do that...also we pack raw chicken that always has to be on the bottom bc of the leakage an all the boxes are different sizes...if u could do a video on packing the different routes/ drops on 1 pallet would be great
Reason I say that is there are over 400 members and I guarantee they can help better since I don't do multiple stops on one pallet. But with that being said I can definitely try. Can you take pics if your work?
@@TheWarehouseSeries yes I work for Mclane we service Chick-fil-A golden coral and chilis we even have bag in box mayonnaise and ketchup bbq sauce any sauce you can imagine basically very squishy weak boxes
I work for llano logistics and is it strictly about speed or can some things help you with your time ??? I’m at week 3 and I’m at a 43% and I’m supposed to be hitting at least a 60% does anyone know ?
I wish. Can't get promoted from the union and I have no college. Honestly I would rather be a boss somewhere else if the opportunity ever was there. Our bosses don't get treated well
Shit, I wish the cooler orders were just all produce. My wearhouse cooler has produce, ready to eat, and meat/ poultry all in 90% of most orders. Fucking onion bags
@@yodambomb4974 I usually find a creative way to use them. My main issue is the way my warehouse is set up. Cello carrots come near the end, at which time I usually don't have a great spot for them and have to do a little rearranging.
@@zaygtp2868 In these videos I try to give general tips that would work in any warehouse. To be specific to your warehouse I would have to work there. I hope you get some help from the 4 videos I put out so far.
Oh heck yes this is the exact video I needed. A lot of the case types/product you showed are stuff they haven't given me yet like those 25/50lb. sacks of carrots, wooden boxes, those waxy Asparagus boxes and such. I'm currently only certified on their Crown PE4500 which is basically the jack you used in your example but single pallet. I drive right handed and am trying to learn left hand and walk along technique. While it's slow for me now I know overtime it'll help remove how much I walk around my pallets when building. Some long time employees said that my number would go way up once I start using the type selector jack where you stand in it. Crown PC450 again single pallet. Though that'll be a whole new learning curve. Those jacks are probably the one type of warehouse equipment I don't have any experience with.
@@TheWarehouseSeries if it doesn't work out I'll just go to another order selection job. I started my wearhouse experience as a picker and now I'm 2 and a half years of experience in so I see the money is on epj and forklifts lol. For whatever reason our job which is my first freezer job starts us off in the hardest department -.- So this will stick with me regardless lol After watching your videos I'm 100% confident I'll make it
I take it you're a boss. That is such a good question. It's hard to do right now because of a shortage on workers. Our company forces overtime daily and guys are getting sick of it and quitting. I personally think one thing companies should do is take a long look at the way they spread their workforce over 3 shifts. If one shift is finishing their work early and another is not, common sense would say the other shift needs more workers. I think all weekend overtime should be double time and the big one is.... If you have a good employee don't have the thought process of I can get more work out of him. Compliment his good work and more than likely he will go out of his way for you. It use to be like at our work now it's just how much work can I get him to do since 50% of my employees don't know the job.
I honestly can go on for quite awhile about this. We have no structure at our job anymore so everyone is miserable and we all have the screw it attitude
@@michaeltigg1926 I appreciate the kind words. At my job we are union so we are not allowed to get promoted. Not to mention they don't treat our bosses good. Lastly our work requires college degree to be supervison.
I start order selecting this week, these videos are so helpful the time I feel will come naturally as I learn the warehouse. Thank you for these videos.
Nice content. If only coremark used Walkie-Talkies. Back at ADUSA things were more smooth. Tagging labels is more old fashion & difficult. Don’t forget your slip sheets. Cardboard is your friend ! Keep up the content 🏆
It's my third week first week was mostly orientation/training really struggling with produce. Sometimes start with Potatoes and then to wet room which box always caving in and those open top produce boxes make it difficult to stack. They are moving stuff around so it doesn't happen often. Dairy and meat I'm getting like 70% but in produce I'm getting like 40%. I honestly hate getting produce we have to put a bag over bananas/potatoes/onions and then a blue pallet on top really slows me down
Just started my first job in a warehouse and had my first day today :) Understanding the way to pack has definitely been my biggest challenge! Thank you for these videos :) I really want to improve and do well, so super grateful for this info x
I love these videos man. I started in grocery 2 months ago and im stuck at 125% 130% cause I'm not efficient nd I gotta run. I'm lucky the top Dawgs always stop and help me out cause they see me hustling. Raced one of them on Tuesday. I got smoked but I was right with him ! Got a 186%
@Tim After your talkman says assignment complete, do You confirm the order and say ready for next assignment or do You stage your pallets then confirm the order? Just curious because once you're signed in everything is running on minutes. Which one is faster in Your opinion???
I just started a few days ago and I feel like quitting because I suck so much. I feel weak and slow. I hope it gets better. Watching your videos to get tips!!
@@ligma7333 honestly that trainer could be let go from training just for saying that. Our company doesn't tolerate it. With that being said. Lol. It is what you make it. If you have good work ethic I think you'll be fine. It's not an easy job and in most cases that's all you will be doing is selecting with no chance of another job in the Warehouse
