Neurofibromatosis type 2 (NF2), also called NF2-related schwannomatosis, is a hereditary condition most commonly associated with bilateral vestibular schwannomas, also known as acoustic neuromas. These are benign (noncancerous) tumors that occur on the nerves for balance and hearing leading to the inner ear.

I had sudden SNHL and now have a Cochlear BAHA bone conduction processor. Yers later, I was diagnosed with Eagles Syndrome with my styloids so long and calcified that I developed glossopharyngeal neuralgia. It took several surgeries to resect the styloids and the final procedure provided relief of all GPN related pain. Hearing loss is likely unrelated and I remain def. my Eagles Syndrome became symptomatic five weeks after revision surgery in my cervical spine. I since learned that surgical maneuvers in the neck, usually a tonsillectomy but cervical fusion can do it too, can move the calcified ligaments to a place where they irritate the C8 nerve root, causing GPN pain issues. It took forever to find a surgeon willing to go in my neck and resect what needed to be removed and address my paralyzed vocal cord, etc. I was thinking GPN/ Eagles Syndrome. Migt make a great case study for your videos.

There are now chemotherapy options to help aid in the stabilising of the benign tumours, or in some cases they even shrink!!!

Doc does that patient also have a deviated septum on that MRI? Which may cause nausea and other balance issues too?
