I would have thought that if there is baldness that severe by 35 then there's a real chance that the lateral humps may 'dip' a bit over the coming decades leaving the risk of the transplant becoming an 'island' - but I guess that's why propecia is so important. I really like your approach to the conservative hairline - I see far too many doctors giving young men, say 20 and 30-somethings, hairlines that are too low and will look ridiculous when these men are 50 plus. They are not 'hairlines for life'.

Subsequently to using a 5 alpha-reductase blocker, a spike in scalp Testosterone can occure, could it be a reason why hair loss can progress under medication with Finasteride/Dutasteride and if so, shouldn’t this issue be adressed too?

You both make so much sense compared to so many of the hair surgeons hyping their business, all the while not doing sufficient planning. I read people on forums writing about little or no time with the surgeon pre op. Lastly, do either one of you both harvest and implant the follicles or strictly employ full-time techs doing the implants? If the techs are implanting, do you monitor that entire process?

Hi. Ihave a question and i will try to not make it confuse. I started oral Minoxidil and Finasteride like 2 weeks ago. I know that drugs have different mechanisms. One is a stimulant and the other is a Dht blocker. But in term of results they are similar. Hair growth, tickness etc... I read and saw on youtube some guys that took Minoxidil for like 2 or 2.5 years and lost all their gains because they werent taking Finasteride. I started both drugs at same time. So lets suppose that in 1 year i will have results in thickness, growth etc. How will i know if both drugs are working? Or if its only Minoxidil working? I ask this because i can be taking both drugs, and in 2 or 3 years i lose all my gains only to discover in that moment, that only minoxidil was working and not finasteride. Not only i lose minoxidil gains and also i lose 2 or 3 years of keeping hair because i was thinking that finasteride was working. I know that doctors are specialists. But how can they say if both are working in 1 or 2 years without risk losing hair, time and money? Thank you.

I'm so happy I came across this channel. The information and advise given is just amazing. Thanks to the Hairloss show I took the plunge and started using Minoxidil in January and Finasteride in March 2020 and just started derma rolling. I did initially shed hairs, then before I knew it, I actually started to get my old hairline back! I'm 31 yrs old and I can honestly say my hair is back to how it was years ago! I can't wait to see how it will be after a year of using the treatment!

41yo. I have diffuse thinning of a NW5. My hair line is still sort there just extremely thin. I still have the swirl on my crown, but from above the swirl to the hair line is very thin. My donor area is very good, the temporal points are great. It's a strange hair loss pattern. I don't know what approach to take. I have more severe hair loss near the crown than the hair line, but both are in bad shape. Over a year on finasteride and 4 months on minoxidil/microneedling. My hair is thicker and darker, but not presentable with a strange hair loss pattern. I can't move the hair line back because it's still there and in fact minoxidil has caused stubble growth along my forehead down to a juvenile hairline.

Dr. Jaya Prakash and Dr. Knudsen. In one of the videos you mentioned that the balding gene switches off at a certain age and there's no way to know when (for now at least). What is the average age when you have seen this in your experience, also is there research to figure when this gene is turned off so that one can decide further course of action. I ve contradictorily read that balding accelerates between 50 and 60, hence want to clarify.

Thank you for all the information you have given us so far. I've been taking finasteride for mostly 5 years now and I was pretty much stable in my hair loss, however I've been losing ground for the last 1/2 years, I had added rogaine 8 months ago but didn't see much difference so far, so for now I'm suspecting that both of them are just slowing the progression of my hair loss. Would you recommend to take an alternative method(like RU for example)? even though is not fda approved it seems like it works just fine. Also I tried avodart for half an year but it seemed like it did the same or slightly better than propecia so I stopped since it didn't make sense to use a stronger medication for the same result.
