Looking good on the clean up. Your old tractor is gonna look like a new one in no time. If in the future you find it always low on fluid you may find the crankcase over full. The shaft seal on the ps pump would be leaking into the timing cover housing and end up diluting the crankcase oil. Just a fyi for the future. Might not ever happen to yours anyway. I see you also have a table saw workbench !! LOL.
@@skookumsawmilling7653 Oh, it may be fine for many years, but usually on critical parts its a good idea to replace the seals during the refurbishing. If you 're not familiar with them, they should all have ID numbers and either the name or abbreviation of the name of the manufacturer. They can almost all be crossreferenced at any autoparts store. If not, a digital vernier caliper can get you the dimensions very easily. I always ask for the counter man that kinda specializes in old tractor parts...its usually an older guy of course.
If it's ending up in the crankcase, it must be leaking through the pump shaft seal. I don't know how to tell if it is getting in the crankcase other than your oil level would rise.
