That was awesome. (sure noticed a lot of car traffic behind Casey Jr, which is funny when everyone gets on their high horse about sight-lines and Walt wouldn't have allowed this that or the other thing).
*Fantastic job editing this and simulating an early Casey Jr ride thru!* It's not one of my all time favorite rides, but I still love it for its warm charm & nostalgic feeling. Extremely well done!
Thank you kindly! When I ride Casey today, I am immediately taken back to childhood innocence and regale the days of bliss riding behind one of my heroes
@@WaltsNephew Oh yeah, me too! I am also taken back to my early days of childhood innocence when riding this great attraction (Though I'm still only 17 & just graduated HS), because I did ride it a lot and was one of my favorites as a little kid before starting to prefer the boat trip over time, though again I still love Casey Jr as well, going for both the ride and the character himself. The ride and song are fantastic, and I really enjoyed riding it last November and took lots of great pictures when on that ride. Someday, possibly on the anniversary of its opening, I plan on syncing the source audio to those pictures. And now that I'm thinking about it more, I might even try to find time to film this ride if I go in September, though my main priorities then are still its a small world, Haunted Mansion (If it's even open), Splash Mountain (Since it is really good IMO and being rethemed relatively soon), and at least some Fantasyland dark rides, along with whatever else I feel like filming. I may film at least some of the Disneyland Railroad as well, like I did last November and also plan on posting soon
HM should be open in September (just a short closure in August to prepare for the bigger closure for the Christmas overlay) and I highly recommend filming the DRR engines! Hope you have a good time at the Park when you go!
@@WaltsNephew That's awesome, thanks for letting me know! And I'll definitely try my best to film at least some of the DRR the next time I go! (At least I think I can, the only issue being my phone's storage) And I did actually film the whole Grand Canyon/Primeval World, as well as the small world façade section, when I went last November, although because I was very busy finishing up high school (In my school's early college program), I still haven't found time to post them. I may do that soon though
@@WaltsNephew this is important to Casey Junior lore, his piston rods being removed means that Casey Junior can move forward through sheer will, that limitation will not stop him
@@WaltsNephew though i can see why the rods are no longer on the units, if you look closely on the current units, theres a hole on both wheels, those might be the place where the rods were, so if they were to try adding them back, it would probably jam up
Absolutely right! I wonder if in future refurbishments when wheels are replaced if the sockets for the rods will be removed or if they will remain (for the unlikely chance they return)
Very true! In the 1960s the connecting was removed leaving only the driving rod. Then in the 2010s or sometime very close to it the drive rods were removed to allow easier maneuverability on the curves (I think)
I keep laughing over the cast member putting up their hands at 2:19, I doubt that’s even allowed today! Also who’s that person next to the tracks at 2:23? It can’t be a guest or a cast member on the canal boats but whoever he is he’s awfully close to the train
Hahahahaha The operator CM was just having fun on the decline ;) But the fellow at 2:23, I believe that was a gardener tending to the trees alongside the bridge (what a poor place and time to be gardening hahaha)
I actually work this attraction, and you're required to keep one hand on the throttle or the train will stop on its own. There's a sensor that detects if your hand is there.
Let me put it this way; Casey has gone into stardom to the railroading community, but Dumbo is a genuine classic of a picture. The film is, arguably, one of the best if not the best animated feature from the Disney Studio
