I was sat at home for five months with depression after losing my job and after watching your vlog i got myself off my ass and got a job within two days - you dont know how much you helped me Casey
I understand that motivation is CRAP! It’s a fleeting jolt of inspiration! But I do appreciate these videos, and the advice, which is empty unless you keep driving forward when the motivation dies......The REAL work is you on you, and your own mindset.. and that takes work, not a Casey Neistat video. Big love to you all watching, I’m right there with you, trying to get out of a dip! ✌🏼💚
Lots of people requesting the next part, but do you guys think it would be as good? Not sure Casey has this much inspirational content anymore. His ideas are awesome, but I think he already shared has thoughts on this topic in the most part. Why are people wanting more? In truth I am too, but doesn't this cause the loop of just wanting more and more information and not actually doing or applying anything, which is kinda the opposite of what Casey is saying. If you follow anyone who has an interesting or inspiring outlook, they really only have a few key ideas which they organise everything around and that's what makes it great. While there is for sure a part 3 of you were to simply edit the next lot of videos together, perhaps the ideas that make up "Caseys guide to life" are already here?

Honestly I really can't wait for 201-300 compilation. I know it took you a HUGE amount of time and effort for already existing two parts, but they've been really helpful to everybody here and as for myself - I've already known about a lot of the things he is talking about and I've tried sticking to them. I'd even say I thought I actually am sticking to them and that I have a certain attitude to my life and everything I do, but watching these videos made me look at most of Casey's points from a different angle and apply them to a way better extent to the problems I have today in my life. I want to say a big THANK YOU for these compilations and I really hope you're going to make more of them.
+Daniel Fjäll I know right? I love this idea. It's very true. Think of all that you want, all you have to do, is do the work that stands between where you are now vs where you want to go. Simple is not the same as easy. I think the problem is because it's not easy, we look for other answers, some kinda secret. Same as Casey says, everyone that wants to become a great film maker always asks him about his camera equipment setup etc instead of just doing it and going out making videos, his first videos were shot on crappy cameras. People don't want to do the hard work, they have resistance, so they want secrets and shortcuts and when they can't find them, they just keep looking or give up, neglecting the fact that they just need to put the work in. Everything you want is way over there, so you have to just start and keep going and doing that work. That's the tough bit, but do it and you will get there!
Not true about attractive people! Most people look away as soon as we make eye contact, and they typically treat me like an asshole before I even get a chance to speak with them. It kinda sucks to be good looking because “average” people assume that I’m a dick for no reason. I love everybody... but a ton of people wouldn’t even give me the time of day.
The one thing i really like is that life with this attitude works pretty well, you are the living example of this. I like many things you mentioned. BUT I believe in people have to have friends or kind of others who love them. Those others who share your interests, hobby and have, in a a way, similar attitude. Maybe you have any advice how to get those, because, you know, social life isn't always easy. :D
My life has been awful due to addiction and also my own actions. I'm sober now for a few years and my mental health is the best it's ever been. I'm now able to concentrate on my new business and my fitness. Thank you, Casey, your videos really help me succeed in life. Keep doing you, brother, you're an inspirational one of a kind.
When I started your videos it was almost 9, now it’s half past twelve. You make time fly like it’s not a thing.... I knew something was up when I was halfway done with my painting, though. 😑
13:37-13:42 I feel like the way to be more positive is to never call somebody, or label somebody something you'd never call or apply to yourself. For example, I never use the you word pathetic because I would never say that about myself. Therefore, it never has relevancy, almost never.
Thank you for putting this together! Such an inspiring collection of GREAT advice! Special thanks for addressing haters too. They’re killing creativity ....and people...for that matter.... so a serious issue for this planet if we want to ever get great! You’re awesome Casey!
I agree with and love almost everything he says , But when he says sitting around trying to figure it out will never yield results ... I'm thinking he is focusing more on the sitting around part, But at some point you have to decide what it is you want to do.
Hey!!! That's not very nice about pretty people! LOL! I get I get picked on too =( It true the we do have it easer, but that just gets you in the door after that you have to offer substance and BE knowledgeable in your field. I believe it's easer to grab people's attention, but you have to maintain it.
Mommy is A Chef, you would be able to get in "the door" in the first place. If someone like me was passionate and knowledgeable about that particular field, we'd most probably lose the interview over someone like you. It's subconscious not personal - but it's also just life.
11:44 You said "never pick on somebody because of the way they look." And in the next statement, you literally picked on "better looking people," and encouraged your viewers to pick on attractive people, stating that it is "TRUTH" that they have it easier in this world because of the way they look. You also said "you have to judge people based on their substance, not on their superficiality." So which is it Casey? Naturally attractive people cant help the way they look and also have to face bullies simply because of the way they look. That was quite hypocritical, ESPECIALLY while addressing questions about haters. Pretty people feel pain too Casey, and I would be willing to bet that they are also targeted by jealous haters often-- arguably more often, than someone who may be considered less attractive.
