The problem I have is, to cut "cost" you're getting a incomplete set that you will never be complete with out sacrificing your 1st born on the secondary market. This could have been split into three parts and sold at the Big Box store.

i've come to a decision. I was looking at the tvc vehicles i spent a crap ton of money on. the Slave 1 and the Biggs Darklighter tru x wing, and the tru y wing. I was reminded of a couple of things. 1: the slave 1's wings were supposed to rotate into position but due to the wrong spring being put in, it does not. 2: the Y Wing landing gear on has never stayed locked into place, even on the day of purchase. 3: the cannons on the x wing, and the wings, have never stayed semetrical and have always been wobbly. Having considered how frustrated and angry these issues made me, i have decided not to back the cantina, because Hasbro doesn't deserve my money for this glorified action figure display case.

I initially scoffed at the idea of getting the cantina. However, after it became pretty clear that it was going to pass 14K backers, I threw in for one. I feel reasonably confident that I can sell the figures to recoup a large portion of the excessive price. Then I'll use the cantina components as a good starting point for a proper cantina diorama.

It's already nearing 4k backers after a day and a half. With 30 more days to go, it will certainly get backed. The real question will be, does get to 17k backers to unlock all tiers? I think it will, TVC people are a lot more rabid than Black series collectors. The last 2 TVC Haslabs have been around 21-22k. I can easily see it hit 17k by the last day due to FOMO. Even though Im disappointed they added Greedo over a never before made alien and i wish it had outer walls and at least a cardboard floor if not plastic. Im still gonna back it. I understand why there isn't a band stage, because there never was one in the actual movie. The film soundstage that the main Cantina filmed on was in London and the band scenes were filmed in L.A on a whole different set, in an empty alcove modeled after the London set. Lucasfilm gave Hasbro the blueprints of the London set, which is the set they re-created for the Haslab. If you watch the film you can tell the band is nowhere to be seen when Luke and Ben enter the Cantina. which fully showed the whole inside as the camera panned around. The band were later shoehorned into the cantina scene with last minute edits. Wookipedia has the layout of the Cantina which Hasbro pretty much followed. All they are missing is the back end of the Cantina (other side of the bar) which was never shot for the film. There was 2 more Alcoves, one on each side of the bar. As well as a back office (behind the bar), a back door and a stairwell leading to a basement. The band is considered added to the right side in the last alcove of the Cantina on fan made maps. Which would be on the Deluxe part of the Haslab, based on the maps.

Its not even a complete canita no place for the band at all. I can honestly see this going the way of Ghost Rider haslab once people fig not all the tiers going to fund the Numbers go backwards. Have no problem with main characters not being part since enough options to get all those

Yeah you nailed it. Just looks like an unfinished 3d printed project. I made my own cantina diorama years ago with foam board and plaster. It has complete walls, floor, bar and all fitted with lights. And Im sure you could commision a much better piece for this price. But the draw for a lot of collectors will be the exclusive carded figures.

Hasbro would have done better to offer this as a build a playset line. Seeing as how each price seperates would be easy to do. Each Piece coms with 1 or 2 Cantina Releated figs sell threw pulse and amazon would have sold just fine without trying to get all the money upfront

Yes sir!!! My issue with this is also it's just parts, there's nothing to hold the pieces, there isn't a frame of at least have the building structure around it. I feel like they just did a 3-D blueprint of the cantina and didn't think of the structure.

Personally I believe that hasbro is asking such a high price for rhis is because they also have some of the profits to Disney , but I do agree this item is definitely not worth the asking price literally the star wars team needs to take pointers from the transformers team on making a good haslabs .

I 100% feel that Hasbro is going to have to try and put a sweetener on this lab. It feels funny when in comparison to the Ghost. It absolutely only funds based off figure fomo. For just low moq cardbacks. Those figures aren't going to be held hostage, Hasbro will beat those molds to death. I want BS sisters, but they'll beat the molds later down the line. But this thing 100% backs off hype figure fomo.

it s a great model to copy as you build one as diorama recyclables cardboard, foam, some work, et voila! about $20, ok buy a few 3 D print details - accessories add $30 and now, at $50 you d have all the exterior too I made a Lego cantina on my channel, check to see what a REAL BIG cantina looks like! so now you know good show bro

As far as dioramas go, the Mos Eisley cantina is an iconic setting, but this doesn't look premium. It looks basic, and pretty bad. If it cost half as much, I still wouldn't be at all tempted. Not knocking anyone who decides differently, but I definitely will experience zero FOMO by not getting this. Even cardboard walls and a floor would help it look less like a collector just 3D printed it. It would still be hugely overpriced.

Instead, they are relying on an ever shrinking pool of aging nostalgic buyers whom with each release get milked harder than a bull mistaken for a cow. Somewhere along the lines, Hasbro has equated price=premium product vs. actual quality=value.

You have to look at this through the eyes of a TVC collector and what it is to be used for. It’s world building. It isn’t as cool looking as a spaceship but it’s to fill a diorama with an iconic scene. It is a little overpriced and needed a couple of bells and whistles (agree on lights and sound) but some of the valuations in the comments here are crazy - $70 to $150? C’mon. If you have a 3d printer there are files to make it cheaper sure but good luck buying a 3d printed from a vendor for less

Absolutely. This feels very uninspired. It's lacking so much to make it feel like a "once in a lifetime" product. I have that micro millennium falcon and it offers more of a play set experience than this and it was $40. Sounds and lights and motion detection for the sounds.

For one of the most iconic sets in the movie the sale results are very bad. It's like the Millenium Falcon not even hitting mininum sales. This set is a Premiere and includes highly requested figures like the Tonnika Sisters, yet it failed to even reach every tier. Not only did a lot of people pass on this product from the getgo, people will start to collect things more that they really want and abandon the thought being a perfectionist. Hasbro is just starting to be really stupid. I'm pretty sure Hasbro would easily get 100.000 purchases if the price was half of what was demanded. But let's make it look like Hasbro is selling "Art" on Haslab. It's just really ridiculous. It's like me reminding people to just cut the bubble in order to have access to the action figure, and they still choose to rip it off and then wondering that their cardback looks like waste. I mean even a Cardback is a good tool to display your figure

Because they've never been made before and the reasons why became a cult legend over the years, an actress didn't sign the rights to use her likeness, etc. It's something I've noticed in other media, incidental characters and things that had no bearing on anyone's past enjoyment of a franchise or hobby get blown waaay out of proportion. It would be cheaper to buy a 3D printer (what collector/toy photographer doesn't have one already) and some foam-board from a local hobby shop and make it yourself. Hell, there are files already online for most of the little extras for free right now! This is yet another example, just like those overpriced NECA TMNT lair dios, where they're begging you to do it yourself for cheaper and better.

I do not care about 6 inch Haslabs and will not criticized 6 inch Haslabs or anybody that backs it because I have no weight as I never and will never buy 6 inch. So if you never backed a 3.75 inch Haslab "YOU HAVE NO WEIGHT" on the any 3.75 inch Haslabs.
