I saw this race live. It was more amazing than the Jug Final that year. Cash Hall obliterated the World Record and the hapless prompter, and looked like he still had something left in the tank that afternoon. It's unfortunate that he was plagued by health problems during his racing career. He had the speed to be one of the all-time greats. First and third quarters in :27.1 .... on a half-miler. WOW!
@BIGRED224FOREVER I think you need to be in touch with the sport. Robert McIntosh has stood for nothing but integrity in times when illegal drugs are running wild on the sport of harness racing.
Too bad Somebeachsomewhere couldn't have raced against the clock with a real driver like Campbell to attempt to take a horse under the 1:45 flat mark in the following years.
