Tony, whenever you open the betting, you should almost always raise. 7/6 hearts hand is an example. In that particular hand you were up against a set and a bluff raise on the flop wouldn’t have worked in that specific hand. But, you are rarely up against a hand that strong. It makes it way easier to play the flop, turn and river. It gives you many more opportunities to win the pot including winning without the best hand when the board gives you bluffing opportunities with cards that you don’t have but that you can represent that you do. You need to bluff more when you have some draws that can bail you out when a bluff gets called.

Also, when you hit the flush on the river, you’ve got to raise. If you are re- raised you can reevaluate but rarely are you going to be re-raised on the river. When you only call river bets with what’s likely the best hand….over hundreds and hundreds of hands, it’s a ton of money you could have had but didn’t.

Limping in any hand is a losing strategy. You polarize your range, when you limp, you ALWAYS have a marginal hand. Can't play scared
