It is so so very smart to save for medical! I was feeling ok for years. Went into the clinic back in February for not feeling so well. Come to find out that I had the flu. And it just snowballed from there! Now I will be having thyroid surgery in a few weeks. I right now have a nice bill of $4,000 and my insurance is starting over tomorrow! :( My new plan year has a max of our pocket of $5,750 now and I will be starting that all over again with surgery, hospital stay, and some follow up appointments. I am thinking I will have close to $10,000 in medical debt after all said and done!!!! :( Life can throw big surprises at us all! I will tell you medical stuff is not cheap one bit!! Keep savings money for that medical stuff!!! I did not see this coming at all!
