The Casio 220 and 230 both have superb self-mentoring systems for the beginner to learn piano. It worked for me. If you can't afford a piano teacher, this Casio can do it and do it well.

Well, hard to choose one, Yamaha have a more presence in Low notes, it almost hugs you, but have a embarrassing medium, Casio have more definition in this mediuns notes but do not have the same weight in low. Can we make a fusion piano? haha

They both sound decent, of course having owned the P45 for a week, I can tell you this type of output isn't common with the built in speakers and that's the worst part about it. Also, everything about the build of the Casio is superior sadly.

Yamaha sounds calming and Casio sounds powerful. So it depends on what you want to play the piano for.

From this I can say Yamaha is more like soft sound and casio is more raw, they both give completely different feels, so it depends on the user what kind of sound they want or like, smooth or raw! Just saying from what I observed here.

I own both pianos: Roland FP-10 and Casio CDP-S100. The sound of a (compact, stage and upright) digital piano really is a matter of taste, and also depends on the settings of the individual piano and used speakers and/or headphones. Yamaha is like an upright piano, Roland is more warm and full and Casio sounds like a grand piano with an open ceiling. Also consider the number of polyphonies (Yamaha and Casio have 64, Roland has 96 polyphones). All models sound better with a good headphone or profetional external speakerss than the built-in speakers. With the further development of the virtual pianos up to the physically modeled pianos, the sound engine within the compact digital pianos is not really interesting and does not represent the first criterion for me. You can simply connect your stage piano to a tablet or computer and launsch a physical modeled virtual piano engine, and you get the best sound out there, with infinite possibilities for tuning right through to the length of the strings. The most important thing in a piano is the KEYBOARD. On all three keyboards of the named models, the keyboard of Casio is by far the best with well-scaled dynamics and pleasing surface texture (Scaled Hammer Action Keyboard II). In summary, a sound engine can be substituted for a better one, but you can not replace a bad keyboard.

Two choices you can't get both on the same instrument: Sound quality or key action. Casio have better key action but the sound is no different from their home keyboard lineup. Yamaha offers better sound, at the cost of shorter depth and less heavy key action

zeds dead Yamaha is famous for complicated menus. I had a Casio cdp200r and loved it. I would consider purchasing a Casio cdp230r but... ok, the orange screen is now blue, a bit dark. The polyphony was upgraded from 48 to 64 = good. To me, it looks like the bender wheel and all keys are a different dimension. The keys are bright shiny and appear like on a cheap toy instrument. The Privias and lower piano only instruments have a better size, shape, and feel to the keys: larger dimension, dull color, fake painted wood appearance = better. I wish Casio would add midi. The controls on the cdp235r and older series I prefer to the Privias. The Privias have a more difficult menu. The Privia buttons are skinny and sharp, difficult to press and change in a live performance. The Casio cdp235r and that series have larger round buttons that have a softer feel and are better for changing settings in a live performance.

No corresponde.

Yamaha - very smooth sound but with high frequencies cutoff, rich sustain yet. Casio - kinda "plastic" sound with synthetic feeling but louder and crisp attack and shorter sustain. I prefer p-45.
@rodneyjweltham150
@rodneyjweltham150 2 года назад
The Casio sounds thinner and more muffled at the same time which is unusual. You cannot beat Yamaha piano sounds for sure. The less the biggest problem with the Casio I think is the limited polyphony - and the worst part for me is that it does not have audio output jacks either quarter-inch or RCA. You'll have to take it from a 1/8 inch headphone jack into a breakout box which is not optimal. Why would they not include a decent quarter inch stereo output jack?

Very close-I have the CDP230 and PX560 , and learned on Steinways, also played alot of early tine pianos-Wurlies and Fender. I think there is slightly more clarity in the 2nd piano but not by much-also sounds "bigger" more spacious as if the samples were taken from at least an 8 foot grand . 2nd piano also seems to have a bit more "bite" in the upper register, csn really hear the hammer sounds. The first sounds a tiny bit duller.

The Yamaha has a lot more power and sustain when it comes to the lower notes but the mids and highs fade into each other and at points can sound artificial The Casio has a better Timbre with much more realistic high notes and key action, also its low notes seem weaker and sustain for a much shorter period of time as well as this the polyphony is only 48 vs the Yamaha's 64 and in my opinion the keys feel nicer and less plasticity with Matt key tops which is a brilliant touch . But the Casio has two 8 watt speakers which has more power than the Yamaha On the other hand the Yamaha has higher quality speakers and is better for producing VST sounds (correct me if im wrong) in conclusion i would go for the Yamaha that is just my opinion
