I bought one of these used on eBay. Of course the bezel was long gone and there was an aftermarket band on it so I found an original wrist band for it and I bought the Brazilian "replacement" bezel for it. I love it. Thanks for the video.
always a pleasure watching your reviews! the thing I love the most that I wish new ones had is the single digit adjustment, it is a much better system than speed scrolling IMO! It makes setting fast and easy and the thing that is better is that speed scrolling often makes you miss your mark so you have to go again
I used to have this exact same piece and regret selling it as it was far more comfortable than my GW-5000 and the battery lasted close to 20 yrs and it had half hour chime indicator as opposed to hourly. Cool watch.

It turned out to be a long one, but I think it covers the Antman better than the previously existing RU-vid videos for it. It's certainly more in depth.
That was an incredible review - the Square is something special. I have two Speeds, one Hero, and an original but I missed G-Shock’s refurbishing program where they replace three bezel/strap, give it a new gasket, etc. I did find a yellow bezel but bezels are getting scarce. I think the person in Brazil quit making them a while back. Thanks again - really good to see an in depth for the Hero.
That was / is my favorite watch of all time. I wish I still had one. I truly appreciate this video. Thanks for the over-whelming sense of nostalgia. :-)
A brilliant watch, I wore it through RAF basic training and in the original Gulf war and whilst I was in the RAF, for about 10 years, on the original battery, but put it away in the attic/ loft and forgot about it as I then got into watch collecting and changed watches on a regular basis. When I re discovered it, the bezel had dissolved, I got another from Brazil and have had it in a watch case, but it's degrading again. Its a shame that Casio can't sell a brand new one. Mine is like new, considering what it went through over the years, with the exception of that bezel. Folk often show their Rolex subs as the epitome of top build quality, but Casio just go to prove that they make such well made watches for bargain prices. As I have entioned in a previous answer, I'll never sell it. Bought in October 1984, I can't ever see it fail any time soon.
This model set the standard for how the square should look, right up to the current 5600E. I think the next C model with the 691 module was a big upgrade with the programmable alarm, dual time and the REM function. The REM was great...I miss it.
Just picked up this watch on eBay. I won it on a bid for $102.00 , it looks brand new. Whoever owned it took very good care of it. I like how this watch beeps once on the half hour and double beeps on the hour. I also have the DW-5600c , got it last year on eBay for $45.00 , it just needed a new bezel and band.
A great review. Bought mine in October 1984, it’s still going strong. The bezel pretty much dissolved, but I got a new replacement from Brazil, it looks like yours. @@yaaxarr8977 Sorry, I have only just seen this. Mien is starting to get sticky and I have barely worn it. I would just seearch on ebay. The firm I dealt with does not seem to exist, but I notice that the only bezel sellers seem to be either from Brazil or Portugal, so who knows, they may be the same people selling it.

i've only just come across this video and as soon as I heard that mentioned I didn't think it sounded right, I've never seen a vintage Square with Shock Resist on the bezel in any retail publication anywhere ever, I'm certain it was an aftermarket part, some models do have it on the bezel, but not vintage squares
Its is a gwm 5600 not 5610 if you look closely it says multiband 5 instead of multiband 6 on the dial indicating that it is the older gwm-5600. (GWM-indicating g-shock waveceptor/multiband)
I still have my original DW-5200 from the 80's but I can't find an inexpensive replacement bezel for it. I wish somebody would start manufacturing them here in the United States.
furballbear they do a bezel in Brazil, I paid $15 for it, but I think they are more now. I notice this reviewer has one of these, as they don’t quite line up with his original band.

Do you know of any videos showing a battery replacement or breakdown of this model. I've got one that just had a battery replacement but the inside display is tilted relative to the outer crystal. Please and thank you.
The module can shift it's position due to the rubber membrane between the case back and the module. So you need to be careful when you close the caseback.
8:30 - I have this watch , but mine has phillip head screws. Do you know when they changed to these screws. The ones I see on eBay also have the phillip head screws.
Well, I'm too much of an old fart to go after little coloring tweaks. To me the GW-5000 is the ultimate practical G-Shock and a negative display really detracts from the practicality by making it harder to read. If you're gonna go for fashionability, I'd pick a whole different model.
