It is pretty much the ideal daily watch. Set it up once and that’s it - 15+ years of perfect time keeping, as close to indestructible as possible, and a design classic.
I bought a DW-5600 model in 1987 right after getting out of the Army, I wore it for years until it was stolen by a "friend". Worn and owned a lot of other Casio watches since, but I was feeling nostalgic about my old G-SHOCK on my 59th birthday Monday and decided to order a M5610U-1ER as a gift to myself. Should be here on Saturday, and I'm looking forward to it.
This is my favorite G-Shock ever made not only because of the atomic multi band 6 and tough solar technology but mostly because of the classic 1983 design and watch face design pays homage to the original 5000c from 1983 👍🏻👍🏻
I have one of these myself that I bought almost 2 years ago, and it's been a great watch even to this day. It still looks great, but likely because I haven't pushed it to its limits. Aside from that, it's gone with me on various adventures, and I just love how it's up to date with the atomic clock + Tough Solar ensures that I don't have to replace the battery for a long time. I absolutely love the watch ❤
I have 5600e. I got it since Basic Training of 2007. Been out for deployment 2X. After 3X battery change, it is still alive until today. The only sad part is, I developed allergy to resin straps. So I stopped wearing it. Then I pick up a hobby of making leather crafts and I made one for my DW5600, it looked gorgeous. I am going to get this 5610u soon and I am going to make the same leather straps for it.
I bought one a few months ago and I just ran it over with a semi (just the head no container) today by mistake. Fell out of my car and I didn’t notice when I realized I didn’t have it on I looked for it and it was ran over in the dirt some scuffs on the resin but on the bottom side you can’t see it when worn and still works perfect
I just got this watch. I like it but alarm is so so low. I got a question. My watch had all set time year etc... Everything out of the box. Is this normal... Not sure . I was expecting to set everything but did not have to a thing...

No thanks. There is enough of that on RU-vid and I would rather it stay in one piece. The GW-5000 is also worth a look as it is the same form factor but more premium. Both are great watches.
@@ianmaw66yes a am aware about the second more premium model. I know it is made in Japan? What would you purchase: cheaper one or the other one (more premium model)?
@@interesting_stories_en I was on the fence about the two models for a while and decided to get the GW5000U - Made in Japan - and yes the rubber is much much better than any other gshock I've owned!
The sun never sets at night above the artic circle (Northern Scandinavia & Canada), but I guess he hasn't set the time correctly 😅, this seems to be filmed in Paris
@@ArthurBrassart Domyślam się, że potraktowałeś mój komentarz jako hejt. W sumie nie dziwie się, dzisiaj czasami trudno odróżnić go od normalnego komentarza. Natomiast mój nim nie był z prostego powodu - miał logiczne uzasadnienie. Tak jak napisałem, film był spoko ale kliknąłem z nadzieją, że zobacez to co na avatarze, jednak po raz kolejny poczułem się oszukany, a jednak +1 wyświetlenie jest ;)
@@przemekk_s nie ma problemu :) ogólnie taki miałem pomysł by ten zegarek rozejachać autem. W końcu zrezygnowałem. +1 wyswietlenie jest. Mam nadzieję bez AdBlocka :D PS. Mam pomysł by przeprowadzić jakiś stress test dla Apple Watch Ultra 2 i G-Shocka. Ugotować te zegarki w garnku, przehechać się autem, zrzucić z drona itd. Czekam na Ultra 3 we Wrześniu by juz móc zniszczyć Ultra 2. Szkoda tylko G-Shocka ale wiem że przetrwa. Daj suba!
What are you gonna do when your pixel dies at the end of the day? Or if there is power outage and you can't charge it? Or if you lose or someone steals your phone? Bet you didn't think of that... lol
It was too small. The band barely fit me on the last hole. Even on an aftermarket strap the case size looked tiny. I ended up giving it to a friend. Nice watch though. If I get a G-Shock again I'm gonna probably get a mudmaster. Much larger. Thanks!@kub89
