What a great choice by Casio. The white instead of red for the second hand is a good change too. The Duro was already a great value diver, albeit super bare bones, adding color variants just HUGELY increases the versatility and value of the watch.
A $0.15 band. I love it! The more money spent on the watch, rather than the ban, the better. We all (I think) want our own band so kudos to Casio for not wasting money on an unwanted band!
You can't let a term like "Quality for the money" take center stage for this watch. It nailed both well finished and dependable for whatever it's cost spread in retail. My curiosity and first impression on the blue version had me supporting local full retail to begin enjoying it. It and a couple other variations of the MDV-106 will be wholeheartedly used and appreciated for years to come, and it's 44mm's size is still comfortable and proving to be a visibilty strength big time (with the lum kicking it up admirably across most lighting conditions.) An easy watch to own and easier to appreciate.
I bought a black and a blue that I modded. Low double dome sapphire Crystal (clear non AR on the black, and blue tint AR for the blue watch), hydro mod (oil filled) , and the James Bond nato strap for the black watch and a stainless steel band for the blue watch. I agree, great watch for the money. They look stellar.
I own the original Casio MDV106B and is a beautiful and great watch. You get so much value for its affordable price. I'm thinking about getting the blue one but it would be interesting to see if Casio released a green (Hulk) version of it.
Great channel, and great review of this Casio Diver. I like how you get right to the point, and give a good review of the watch. You just gained a sub!
I have the black and blue both. I have a dozen or so Nato straps. With both duros and that many natos, the possibilities are endless as to the color schemes I come up with! It is pure fun.
Did not realize there are 2 additional variants to MDV 106. Really like the black and gold vatiant. Looks like my original MDV106 will welcome his "cousin" to our watch family 😎👍🏼😎
I have 3 Duro's and would like it if Casio would come out with an orange face version. I have the blue, the batman and the gold, I'm actively looking for a silver/white face with the black marlin.
I have a Casio Duro Marlin MDV-106 (the one with the marlin logo) and it has been really strong on all terrains for the last 3 years. I'm still waiting for Casio to launch a new Casio Duro product in a smaller size (baby duro) with the 200 meter WR feature🤿🧜🏾♂️💦🌊
Hey, I've mowed through the fake ones, and I see one difference left before I purchase, the one I'm looking at is that where the hands meet the "centre pin" lol, idk the terms, but either way, im seein that instead of your one (black middles), these ones have like a silvery/light gray? Thoughts would be appreciated, thanks.
Why do people call that fish a marlin? It's not; it's a sailfish. Don't take my word for it - just search "marlin vs sailfish" to find out for yourself.
Right now, the watch is not interesting (for me). Adding a different dial color (purple, minty green, or other "unusual" color) might make me change my mind. But as for now, my veridict is... boooooring. (sorry to rain at your parade).
