So glad you're with Casio now Rich, Korg still doesn't have a suitable replacement that I know of so far. Kansas's Tom Brislin is using the Casio Privia on their live gigs and it sounds great!
Great music Rich. Love this piano. Have both the psx 1000 I bought for my grand mother whom sold her Yamaha Grand Piano when she downsized homes and wished for a small piano with the grand piano sound. Sounds, feels and plays great. Thank you for all your hard work in producing and selling this piano.
Epic sounding digital piano!! , its portable , many great features , and slim looks , im suprised that casio now makes incredible instruments. This can stand up to Yamaha , Roland or maybe even Korg

what is the grand piano sample for casio's digital pianos ? from yamaha is a real sample of cfx yamaha grand piano, from roland is steinway and sons sample, and casio wich sample uses ????
Tested the new Casio in store and the keybed is amazing, I have the previous generation, PX-5S keybed, but this new PX-S1000 and 3000 is a much quieter and easier to play, but not too easy, the balance between heavy and light is very good. Can't believe they actually managed to create such a good key touch in such a slim DP. The sound is also amazing, pretty loud and crisp.
This is now a must buy for me. It isn't perfect but at the price I think it's unbeatable. [Not perfect? With such limited depth (of course, a great asset in this instance) it's impossible to get a true "grand piano" feel, where l-o-n-g keys (from the pivot point) are essential. And only a 3-track recorder? It's hard to understand why Casio didn't provide 16 tracks - a negligible increase in production cost.] But as I said, at this price, it has no competition, there is so much packed into its sleek, beautifully functioning and sounding, body. Thank you Casio.
Wow .. you gotta love the context sensitive menu system, spread across the top. This concept should be adopted by all makers .. what a great feature! The whole panel becomes a display?! Is this a MIDI controller too?
I too am highly enthusiastic about this piano, but PLEASE!; yes the internal speakers are a very useful asset and surprisingly good for what they are, but to describe them as "powerful" along with the other superlatives is gross exaggeration.
It works with double a batteries, but I think it has a plug too. I don't know for sure because I don't have one, but I read that it comes with a power adapter. I know it works with aa batteries.
Battery operation is great - a couple of hours from 6 AA batteries, but normally you would use it powered from the mains supply. (The 1000 gives much more time from batteries)
You discussed the split, you did not Deal with the issue of layers which is most important. Does it layer yes or no, if the answer is yes how many layers on each side?
There is an option for that according to the manual. The damper and expression pedal jacks can be set to step forward or backward through the registrations.

Sure, not sure I'm understanding your question but the PX-S3000 does allows you to layer two tones AND split at the same time. For example, you could set a split point and assign an instrument or "Tone" to the lower part (Casio calls this the Lower tone) and then assign two more instruments to the Upper 1 tone and Upper 2 tone. This means you could play a bass sound with your left hand and a piano/strings layer with your right. Does this answer your question? Thanks! -Dave
Big doubt Kraft. Does this keyboard has a MIDI OUT? I don't see one. If it doesn't, how will I connect to my audio interface! I need to connect the keyboard to my audio interface and NOT to the computer directly
The PX-S3000 does not have 5-pin MIDI jacks, it sends and receives MIDI data over a USB to host port on the back panel. You can still accomplish what you're trying to do by connecting the 1/4" audio outputs to the audio inputs of your audio interface and then connecting USB from the Privia to your computer. When you are working with music production software, you will select the Privia as the default MIDI device (and leave your audio interface as the default audio device) and this will allow you to send and receive MIDI while recording audio directly from the instrument. But in terms of MIDI synchronization, that still limits you to the capabilities of the MIDI-over-USB protocol and class compliant drivers, which I found on the PX-5S doesn't work as good as when I connect the analog MIDI output to my RME Babyface Pro. When I tried sending programmed MIDI melodies from my DAW into the PX-5S over USB and then to record back the sound of the keyboard, the arpeggios didn't sound right because it had micro-shiftings in the timing of the notes, and then when I tried through the MIDI ports of the Babyface Pro the issue was gone. So I think if you want to use the keyboard as a controller as well it should very much feature an analog MIDI port as well for best performance. I don't think the addition of one should really up the price even.
Another well experienced channel on RU-vid called this essentially worse than a toy.Too bad, I was so close to getting it. Now I have to rethink which one to get in the price range that has worthwhile features.
Yes but who you gonna trust in? The opinion of a classical pianist who always is comparing keys to a real piano? You will never be satisfied. Or the opinion of hundred of EXPERIENCED CHANNELS and no body is complaining about the Px s3000?
Robert Michalscheck synths and hex layers sound really good. Very useable. However they do sound better on the PX5S which I also own and the synth and hex sounds are much more shape able and controllable on the PX5S which makes a big difference in shaping new sounds. But in regards to the piano sound and Keybed action the PX s3000 wins. Improved piano sample and very tweakable with damper resonance, string resonance etc
