Hi man! Great video!! I have my wk3700 but I dont know how to do custom sound. Are you going to use a software for that? Or is it just a built-in sound that are layered? Please help me man!

Press the synth button. Then use the arrow buttons to navigate through the 2 rows of settings. The first row is the synth section and the second row is dsp fx. It's pretty easy even for total beginners.

Have you tried loading custom waves in the WK yet? Should be pretty useful. Also wondering can you edit the filter cutoff amount on keyed velocity when editing a sound on there?

Hi, I've loaded a few samples in. It's a good feature. Something to note is that the conversion process alters the sound in unexpected ways. Similar to sampling on an ensoniq mirage. So while its a great feature, you never quite know how it will turn out. As for the filter, from memory there are some extra parameters for filter behaviour in the software editor.

@@sssyntax Thanks for sharing. Not very many people seem to have tried these features of the ZPI models and shared the exp. Is there anything the MZ2000 can do that the WK 3800/8000 can't do with the editor at that point?

@@kenzieprice6745 @kenzieprice6745 yeah for some reason very few people bother to look at the big casio models. One major difference between the mz and wk is that the mz doesn't offer sampling. Editing sounds is a lot more involved on the mz once you go beyond the fast edit mode. Many/most of the sounds in the 3500-8000 range are from the mz2000 so there are a few similarities there. The mz has many more features though. One interesting place the mz falls short of the wk range is in its dsp parameters. Where as the dsp on the wk range have loads of parameters, on the mz you only get 2 parameters per effect! Crazy! Other than that, and the standard casio traits of master dsp not saving consistently, dsp is pretty much similar but more varied than the wk range. There's poly portamemto and after touch which is cool. Frustratingly, the mz works with 2 upper and 2 lower sounds from the keyboard but none of that can be triggered via midi. So what ever sounds you set up using easy edit in a registration for upper and lower, they are completely independent of all midi and are off limits to everything other than the keys. This makes no sense. None of the mixer settings for external/midi channels saves correctly either. So you can set up all 16 channels as you want it, save it, and all it saves is the upper and lower data that can't be accessed via midi hahaha. Just crazy. There's also audio input so you can run a mic, guitar or stereo line in. This can be put through the master dsp which is cool, though the ad/da conversion sucks the life out of what ever sound you run through it. The onboard speakers are amazing but sadly, like the wk range, the line out sound is no where near as good as the on-board speaker sound. All of that said, it's a tremendous keyboard that sounds massive and allows 4 layers per voice and tons more synth editing than the wk range, like filter and pitch envelopes etc. Each of the 4 voice layers has its own dedicated and independent synth parameters too. There's a lot of song writing and pattern creation options that I've not really tried much. It's a very, very powerful rompler that has loads of potential. Similar to say an early motif or Triton. So over all, the mz offers heaps more than the wk range in most areas even though it has more short comings and fewer core sounds than the wk range.
