Recorded live at ABC Hall, Feb. 8-9th, 1980. Despite the concert having a decent amount of media, it is not known which day is which. Noro wears a different outfit on the other day.
Upscaled with Topaz Video AI, using the Proteus Fine Tune setting. Audio was touched up in iZotope RX 10.
This video is not 1440p. It was uploaded at that resolution so RU-vid would apply a more effecient and better-looking codec, vp9, instead of the typical avc codec. You do not have to watch the video in 1440p to view it with this codec, so watch this video in 1080p instead.

Early Akira Jimbo sounded very close to Takashi Sasaki before Takashi left. Interesting.

I think Jimbo was given more freedom in 1980 up until Make Up City's release. Probably since they were still used to Sasaki. Jimbo is a less sloppy drummer than Sasaki though lol

@@bleach___ thats an interesting thought. yea i could tell that it was until Make Up City, bc when i listened to "Eyes of Mind" from that one, it sounded much more simplified. I mean it is also pretty subjective whether you could say that Sasaki was more sloppier of a drummer that Jimbo, i mean Sasaki was a very dynamic drummer as stated by Mukaiya, he was more of a freeform drummer, and he had a wider variety of chops, but Jimbo is more of just the time keeper and the pocket player. I did wish Jimbo played just a bit more like Sasaki in later pieces down the road, like the ones in Budokan. The best hit medley from live in Budokan couldve definitely needed Sasaki-like drumming.

@@pulsar-_-4504I think his drumming was limited by what Noro allowed. Noro was (and still is, probably) very picky with compositions and sound, and he had certain things in mind going into the 80s. Clearly, through his 90s-present career output, Jimbo is a phenomenal drummer, and that was shown through his own groups and compositions, where he could do what he wanted. Also, while Sasaki had dynamics, he definitely overplayed and was off on rhythm sometimes (see their first performance of I’m Sorry on 1979/12/31).
