Great work! If possible, while in desktop, please consider adding a single-entry workflow similar to GNOME in cask. This basically means (in order of most important first): 1) Integrate krunner on type on the desktop mode 2) Allow user to drag application entry from krunner to dock 3) Allow user to drag application entry from krunner to a workspace to open on that workspace 4) Allow User to drag file icon to workspace to open file from defautl application on selected workspace 5) Enable a setting to make workspaces the default action for super This creates a world of 1 click, or one key, workflows: - Need to switch windows? super - Need to switch workspaces? super - Need to view workspaces or manage them? super - Need to see or interact with the panel if you're in full screen? super - Need to launch an app? super, search and launch - Need to launch an app on a specific workspace? super, search, and drag No memorizing many different multiple key shortcuts for new users, just the super key, or an icon for whatever they need to do between tasks. This is also much easier to teach young and old alike since there are less places to click to get where they need, and less combinations to remember. And throughout long sessions it creates less cognitive fatigue.
This is wonderful! A thing that I wish Linux developers (mainly the KDE ones) should be trying to accomplish. A friendly, useful and full integrated flow for the desktop paradigm.
@@aislanarislou much of this is already being implemented into KDE's new overview effect for 5.24. However, to my knowledge, integration between krunner application iterms and workspaces or panel is not a thing, and also for now they're going to hide the panel. They will consider making it interactive in the future but requires more work than they can get ready for 5.24. Since this project takes a more unified approach, it really is better suited for the single-entry workflow. Hopefully one day all my comments will come to fruition outside of GNOME, which i really want to move away from when I can.
