Casper sacrificing his chance of coming back to life just to bring Dr. Harvey back to life is touching; I’d do the same to a kid if he was dying, I’d give him one of my kidneys so he can live and have a future.
However, the only reason Casper wanted to be alive was so Kat could love him. But him turning human for a brief kinda defeats the idea of his sacrifice and is just a tease. I feel it would've been better for Kat to accept Casper for who he is, and the two dance as human and ghost. It would be closer to the cartoon'e message of accepting and loving people no matter how different they are. But here, Kat had no interest in Casper until he was alive. (And after the '96 series, clearly they act more like siblings bickering than a relationship, so what's the point of romanticizing Casper at all?)
I would’ve done the same thing if I was Casper. Sacrificing his one chance to become alive again for Kat to have her father again. She needs her father. She already lost her mother, so she doesn’t have to lose another parent. She would become an orphan, and that leads to her being completely alone and a huge hole in her heart. You did the right thing Casper.
I really wish they kept the deleted scene where Casper finally snaps back at his uncles when they try to stop him from resurrecting Harvey. The trio is at their cruelest in this scene as they taunt Kat, and having Casper go off on them would’ve been a really cathartic resolution to their presence in the story.
True, and while i woulda loved to see the uncles more, i get y it was deleted. 1. Budget. 2. This is supposed to be a sad thing not a triomphet scene. and 3. It may have made the trio look TO evil. Like, by the end, they get Docs wife to meet him one more time, which was sweet! So, for them to activly stop Doc from getting his body back woulda made them seem incredibly evil.
Carrigan: What have you done to me? Me: I haven’t done anything to you, Carrigan. Carrigan: WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO ME?!?! Me: This was your wish to be a ghost, not mine! A ghost may have phenomenal supernatural powers. Casper the Friendly Ghost: But an itty bitty living space. You see, a ghost with unfinished business doesn't cross over.
It's looks good I love it so much it's looks like new DVD releases review history books documentary about biography book club fun more information on maze's contact with weekend or next weekend or next day away magic key magic together just like that
And it’s just as well that she never saw what the “treasure” really was, because she would’ve been pissed to find that it was just an autographed baseball. Carrigan: A baseball? You mean to tell me that I went through all that trouble and got myself killed, then crossed over for a lousy baseball that I’d be lucky to get $50 for?! Devil: that’s right, and your punishment is to watch it over and over again!
Now there’s a chance for Casper to come to life again cause if they do a proper Ghostbusters crossover maybe Winston and his research team could help crack, recreate, replicate and modify that potion and machine
At that point what's the point Kat would be 40 years old and he still be 12 in mind and body plus they would try to capture Casper and his uncles after the last one help bring the end of the world
When Dr Harvey changed back into human, he was in his “death” clothes. Casper looks different cause he’s been a ghost for so long so every details disappeared. I wondered, the clothes he wear when he became a human, was it the clothes when he was laid to rest
I think Casper now that he has his treasure in two forms, the girl he has obviously fallen in love with, and his baseball and glove, I think when he kissed her at the stroke of 10 he should have been allowed to move on and tell her that he will wait her on the other side, and he said, "can I keep you."I don't like the fact that this movie doesn't have the kind of ending that Caspar has always deserved. Bear in mind I've seen in the original 1930s cartoons of him and they were special and he was always special, but there comes a time when every character should get their happily ever after just so the rest of us who don't have one have something hopeful to look at.😊
It probably is though it would be weird to have to confirm a death when they're still alive. The one I'm curious of is he died with his clothes on and when he became a ghost he had only his knitted sweater and glasses but when he came back to life his clothes came back with him. So did his wallet double itself if he died with his wallet does he now have two wallets with cards, his driver's license, and possibly cash? Imagine you died with a hundred dollar bill in your pants and when you came back to life you got two hundred dollars
@@LokiOfWinterfell it's just weird to me that when he became a ghost he had only his sweater and glasses and nothing else. Honestly ghosts shouldn't have any clothes because why would they need any especially when they come back to life
It's likely that being a ghost after decades just change to look less human and since this is technically connected to Ghostbusters it adds up with ghosts from that series.
Gods of Death: "Carrigan? Are you ready?" Carrigan: "No not like this! I can't go to the otherside without accomplishing-" God of Death: "Are you ready?" Carrigan: "I only had a MINOR mishap in my goals! If I made a deal with your gods, I'd get a second chance! Just a llittle more time, Mr Death? I promise I'll accomplish my business in the mortal world! I PROMISE!"
1. They were wanting sequels to this but it got stuck in direct to video purgatory 2. Changing the IP from Casper the Friendly Ghost to Casper the Average Teenager
I wonder if you switched out ghosts with vampires would this movie play out the same like if Kat's dad instead of being a ghost he is a vampire would he stay a vampire or would he give it up
this is an old kids movie so theres no thinking in this movie . theres a few funny things to note . 1 . kats dad was brought back so how will they explane the same man walking around the next day in a new body when its not likely he had a secret twin running around . 2 . that stuff that was made to work the thing to bring people back from the dead ? are you really going to tell me the guy didnt have a lab in the house or on the property where he made the stuff and in finding that lab you will find the notes on how to make more of that stuff . on the subject of labs the movie was set in the time of 1990s or 2000 . at that time are you going to tell me they can not send some of that stuff from one of the nearly empty bottles to a lab to have it looked at and pay to make more? i may just be overthinking parts of a movie that doesn't need any thinking but still good music and fun parts in the movie .
For that formula maybe it's like a Philosopher Stone where it needs the sacrifice of living people to make it work and it could explain how the ghostly trio came about
@@raymicheals4127 i saw a show with the 3 when a kid asked to hang with them and one of the 3 said [ a little to late for that event kid ] now it could have been a joke but they have enough samples i think to recreat the stuff .just imagen the movie spin offs that could have been made . i think you are right in that it would have been similar to a Philosopher Stone and if that was real the owners of the house could have been rich just of that stuff and the reserch alone . they wanted treasure but where looking in the wrong place and only had the simple mind of gold but its a fun kids movie. i do think if they wanted to they could have had this and harry potter do a cross over with caspers dad as a ghost . what do you think
@@saur2244 well I wasn't referring to Harry Potter but Fullmetal Alchemist where the ingredients for the Philosopher Stone is used by sacrificing living ingredients which could explain the ghostly trio as in they died to make the potion that's probably what did them in As for the Harry Potter crossover it would be interesting to see if Ghostbusters and Casper fit in the same universe why not Casper heck throw in Evil Dead, Beetlejuice, Bleach,Danny phantom, supernatural, and Scooby Doo
Honestly i would give this movie more credit if Dr. Harvey stayed a ghost. Let's be honest he had a decent life and he technically is around more for Kat since he is a ghost. Casper died when he was a kid while Dr. Harvey died in his forties . Now that i think about it Casper became a ghost because he ignored his father and died of phnuemonia, Carrigan died because she her greed for treasure caused her to become a ghost, and Dr. Harvey died because his need to find his wife made him exhausted. I think how ghosts are made is because their ego, pride, or greed is what keeps them from moving on.
Why didn’t they use the kid that did Casper’s voice for the scene where he walks down the stairs and dances with Kat?! Devon Sawa was used for the dance scene and it throws the audience for a curve because, he is not the same actor who did Casper’s voice over!
@@raymicheals4127 I guess what I’m trying to say is, the actor who did The Voice for Casper in the live action movie that stars Christina Richie…. was not the same actor that was seen walking down the stairs near the end of the movie, the actor who did Casper’s voice before the dance was named Malachi Pearson.
