the enclosure for the croc should be much bigger that is cruel. It isn't good to confine him to such a small space and why doesn't the guy just give the croc its food

I think that they should put a few Plovers into the exhibit, which are birds that clean the croc's teeth for them. It wouldn't help with the space, but it would at least clear up one problem.

I'm sorry but even though i havent seen the whole "cage" that holds the beast, I feel that that isnt the best place to keep this massive creature. You should respect it and give it a larger cage if you must keep it in captivity. :/

This Croc is just about 18'. I also read a story about the 21' salty captured alive in the Philippines. It's still a giant.

Adam Britton wrote this on his Blog "Croc Blog" "Lolong's total length was 6.17 metres, which is 20 feet 3 inches (20.25 feet). As a pure-bred saltwater crocodile, this certainly makes him the largest living crocodile in captivity. This is not an official Guinness record yet, there is a procedure that we have to go through before they can make a final decision, but we have all the required evidence for it. It will be several months before a decision is final."

Biggest caught croc in captivity is Cassius in Aus at 5.48m (18ft) but the farm bred Chao Yai in the bangkok samutprakarn zoo is the biggest at 6.0m 1115kg (2465lb) in guiness records. Last time i was at zoo said it was 6.2m so maybe its grown since the record was done.

@CairnsPost I was just reading the Guinness World Records site and you are right. The largest crocodile in captivity at the moment is still Cassius. I was also reading about the Philippines crocodile and I believe they are going to release the crocodile back. That wouldn't make any changes to Cassius being the largest crocodile in captivity. These people need to read more :)

when i went to florida once, i saw a croc, it was called captian crunch, and they said IT was the biggest croc in captivity, and i saw it in november, 2011

He confirmed Lolong as the world's longest crocodile in captivity at 20 feet and 3 inches.[3] His confirmation is good enough for entry into the Guinness Book of World Records but that announcement is to be published six months later, in March 2012" Just letting you know.

@CairnsPost the worlds largest crocs are in eqypt theyre called niel crocs, they grow up to 12 metres long and bigger. and in darwin theyre captivity crocs are much bigger then 5.48 metres long. which is why swimming with them and the cage of death is so popular.

update: Zoologist Australian-british Adam Britton arrived in the Philippines as part of the National Geographic team doing a documentary personally measured 'lolong' at 21ft. Dr. Britton was also the crocodile expert commissioned by Guinness world records to measure 'Cassius' (current record holder at 18ft), his recommendation to Guinness records will make lolong the new record holder.

She looks more like a gator than a Croc to me, but that could just be a visual trick caused by only seeing her head and shoulders coupled with her sheer size.
