This Lodge grill is very rusty and needs a good cleaning and seasoning. Soaking it in vinegar will dissolve most of the rust and make cleaning a lot easier. Due to the cold temps we are having and the amount of rust on the grill, I let it soak in vinegar for 48 hours. The majority of the rust was dissolved and all I had to do was a light cleaning and rinse before I began the seasoning process.
This is just another method of cleaning cast iron cookware that I've found. Once properly seasoned, cast iron skillets, dutch ovens, and other cookware will be practically maintenance free and last a lifetime.
About Me.
In 2018 I decided to stop working for someone else full time and pursue my dream of building my log home and starting a small farm in the Ozark mountains. It's a dream that I have had and have been working towards for over 20 years, and due to life changes and unexpected events, I decided to make a leap of faith. This journey will not be without its challenges and setbacks, but I will continue to push forward each and every day to make this dream a reality. I try to upload videos 3 days a week but working mostly alone I am always pressed for time.
