Cast Iron Wednesday 10-06-2021: Bacon, Bakin' and Lye 

Tonight on RU-vid Live, we'll be doing some cast iron baking...and also cleaning cast iron. It's an opportunity to once again use this "old but new" cast iron cake pan, "The Monarch", while also taking some more cast iron bakeware out of the lye tank and cleaning it up. That includes a 19th century turks head baking pan, two John Wright cookie molds (getting ready for the holidays!), and a BS&R corn bread skillet. I'll be doing my best to provide information about these cast iron pieces, while baking an "apple maple bacon cake." Yes, that's an apple cake with bacon! As always, questions and answers about using and maintaining cast iron cookware are encouraged. Most of all, we're here to have fun, so come on over to RU-vid Live and have fun!
