New viewers only know him as a dork in Squid Game, but he is an old school top tier actor and model who is as famous as Lee Byung Hun, Jang Dong Gun, and Jung Woo Sung. He always played alpha male characters in films, so it was really surprising for the Korean audience to see him in a dorky role in Squid Game. If you see all his old films, you'll know what I mean.

In those silly k-dramas, most actors have had several plastic surgeries. Maybe some from this cast have too, but they are still more normal looking (although goodlooking) than in some other series. From the looks of it, the one who plays the policeman hasn't done anything. I think that's good; to celebrate the typical Korean features instead of everyone having done their eyes, jaws, noses, boobs and more.

Actually many korean think her acting was little bit awkward. Of course she has a beautiful face and voice tone, but It was her first acting (she was a model before) so many scenes were cringe. And her role (North Korean) is hard to act because their language has very subtle tone what is different from South Korea. Many Korean felt it was quite awkward. But I believe she'll do better next time!
