Also when Gills(Castor) talks about the whole 8 years of him torturing people and stuff when he was alive it’s about how after John of Arc was burned alive and he went crazy because of it. She actually shows up as a servant in Fate Apocrypha and is a main character.

Ryunosuke's point of view is just the type God as the player of the game and designer himself, it is totally nothing to prevent a God in doing good/bad things to his creations. Just imagine how cruel NPCs could think about us the player had done to them, curious to replay a bad end even you know it is going to happen, trying some dumb shit act to see what will happen, having fun by doing whatever you could by manipulating your game character. Caster is mad about his God for allowing his companion Jeanne's sorrowing end which she die in shame even she saved her country, AND punishing/killing common people who don't care to defend their national heroine, falling insane to prove/doubt God's existence. Caster is a very well written serial killer character at least. (Gil is actually quite the God's standing point who is beyond of his garden because this garden's history is basically his doing, in ancient time he denied the nature Gods and allowed this Age of Man, his eyes can see through the end of time about this outraging consumption civilization yet he probably did find worth or enjoyment from it, godly figure like him basically treating random person as NPCs, because of his higher viewpoint)
