Caster Semenya is a South African middle-distance runner and winner of two Olympic 🥇. She won her first Olympic 🥇 in London 2012 over 800m. In Rio 4 years later she defended her title and won another 🥇. Enjoy her first Olympic race in London 2012.

It's not surprising that the people outraged over Laurel Hubbard becoming the first trans person to quality for the Olympics were nowhere to be found when Caster Semenya, a cis woman, was essentially banned from competition over her natural hormone production.

Semenya is pretty much working under the same rules than transgenders. He's a XY person with testes, allowed to participate in the female category as long as he drops his testosterone levels to the 10nmol (which is between the male range).

Transgender can compete but Caster Semenya who was born female is not allowed to compete. The rules always apply different when it comes to African countries and it’s very unfortunate.

Semenya is pretty much the reason why the rest of XY males with testes are allowed in female sports as long as they identify as woman. Semenya can participate in female categories too, but he doesn't want to lower his testosterone levels. Probably because then he won't be able to father more children with his wife.
