In this video I'll be casting a huge copper skull and some golden rings from scrap copper and bronze. I am using the lost PLA and lost wax method to cast these. I built the casting tree by attaching wax sprues and used investment plaster before burning out the wax and pouring in the molten metal. Do you normally apply a passivation solution to the jewellery to keep them from being oxidized? Or is it the natural patina that you want to achieve and hence no passivation step is required?

Hey I have recently started metal melting and I was wondering what order you do to start the furnace like the pressure or the lever on the furnace or the propane tank and how to shut it off when you go to pour and you know you will need the furnace again?? Also how long you wait between putting the metal in the water and holding it with your hands because I have not gotten that timing right? Also I love you videos, keep up the great work!!

Cool video ...you can use silicon to make multiple copies out of the originals wax rings when it needed also recommend to make cavity into the skeleton wax then cover the hole after casting .to save copper investment of it and gives the skeleton statue heavier ...is it gypsum mold you used to cover the wax forms ?
