My way has been to skip dopplegang, and loop dig up/shigeki/virtue of strength in a control deck. In one turn you can go basically infinite mana and tutor out an outrageous robbery to exile their whole deck. Every time I tried dopplegang, the game crashed. I outrageous robbery'd an opponents dopplegang even after I stopped using it, and even with x=2 to purposefully keep it low, hitting virtue of strength still crashed the game.
If you have enough mana, one way to establish absolute dominance is to make one of your Doppelgang targets a Field of Ruin and start nuking the opponent's lands. Most people don't run many basic lands, so the odds are pretty high that at some point you'll just start strip mining them.
Nah, that's worthless. I made an infinite turns deck that could just exile literally everything they had, lands, board, hand, graveyard and library, but you cast the first timewalk and they just nope the fuck out. Can't have any fun.
@@LlywellynOBrien I mean, isn't it? Aggro decks can literally one-shot you on turn 3, before your 2nd land ever untaps. Then you play your first card in the game and they scoop? Who's denying who the fun?
@@MetalHev fair point. I know on Arena when I used to play I often wished there was a way to signal whether you'd like people to stay. I know when I knew I was beaten I was often torn. Half the time I thought 'this person might be having this work for the first time and I should stay to let them enjoy it' and the other half of the time I thought something like 'oh man this person is probably just grinding for some quick wins, I should scoop so that I don't waste their time'.
24:20 Lol after an entire game of just counterspelling his opponent, our heroic azorius player rage quits and salt ropes after his opponent copies a bunch of lands
I mean he copied his cavernous maws and mindsplices creature lands are annoying to deal with let alone 8 of them. It wasn’t just a regular land he copied.
@@LegenVD I was surprised that you didn't run a full playset of some blue and white cards but went will all 4 Union of the Third Path. Why not have that extra Syncopate, or perhaps one more removal spell, and go down to 3 Union?
@@SpeakerWiggin49Can definitely play around with the numbers, but Union is key in the monored macthup. Since it's the most played deck in best-of-one I think it's worth it.
Yes and no. With a big enough Silver Scrutiny we're all set on card draw. In an aggro meta it's more important to dig a little deeper to find key interaction with Augury compared to the incremental card advantage from Beanstalk. But it's certainly a card I would want in the 75 for the grindy matchups.
My version of the deck, which i invented one month ago seems a bit more consistent: i play the capenna fetch lands, and for ramp green and blue virtue, deeproot wayfinder, glimpse, and the best ramp card in standard my opinion: cosmic rebirth
Hinata changes the math and is easy to splash with mirrex and sunken citadel the math becomes 4 6 8 to get 1 2 3 permanent and copies. Without Hinata it's 5 8 11 which are huge gaps and with Hinata you can easily ramp into giant dopplegang with repository skaab copies to get doppelgang back and repeat as much as you'd like
Hinata will get instantly vaporized the nanosecond she hits the battlefield. The power of decks like this comes from being really hard to interact, and mindsplice is already the weak link there.
@@MetalHev sure removal answers everything but if you deploy Hinata when the time is right then it won't matter as you only need her to be alive for the first doppelgang the rest of the doppelgang will have enough mana from the first and you want repository skaab to copy so you can get doppelgang back over and over
At this point if you see Legend as your opp you will know that you are about to lose the game, but you also know that it will be interesting to watch. 🙂
I don't understand why you are worried about not using your mana effectively vs a burn deck, eating 4 face damage when you are below 10 is simply a bad idea. Mana efficiency doesn't really matter if you remove all their threats and force them to top deck with no card draw
I will never understand how people have fun just playing those control/counter/only do actions on your turn/only fun for me but not for thee decks. Those decks are so frustratingly boring.
