That's awesome!! No endorsement? No problem!! Every time you look at your furnace you will feel pride in your work. That's better than any endorsement or free product. There's nothing like a job well done and that furnace sir is a job VERY well done!
I don't buff my castings all that often. A lot of times I've painted the recessed portions of the casting and I'm afraid the buffing wheel would remove the paint. If I buff it beforehand I'm worried about buffing compound getting down in the recessed areas and the paint not sticking to it.
Pretty cool collaboration with Julian!! If that’s what it takes for us to get Julian on another video keep em coming!! 😁 I love the Angel Forge casting light on the hobby Metal-casters! 👊🏼🤙🏼💪🏼
Perry, that came out great! Your castings have improved immensely. Have you ever thought about casting pewter, it melts at a much lower temp and can be polished up very nicely!
I went the other way round and found your channel from Julian. It's great to see the finished badge in place and it looks terrific. I have no possible way to produce anything by casting due to where I live, but to see the process first hand and the techniques involved is really interesting. Great job and all the best for the future.
Yeah, I can't watch that much of his stuff, he's way too talented for my tastes 😄😄 I'm glad you came by, but even happier that you binge watched Julian today.
bigstackD sent me. Looking forward to watching all of your content - I'm just starting to get into melting and casting, so looking forward to learning more from your channel. Cheers!
This was an amazing pour once again. I really want to do this one day and your channel is the best when it comes to casting at home. You make it look so easy.
Thanks brother, I appreciate that. You should have been with me in my garage today you would have seen the other side of "easy" 😄 It was anything but. Don't hesitate to reach out if you have questions once you do get started. Be forewarned, its addictive 😄
Hi there Swdweeb. I really enjoyed this informative content. Thanks! We are soon to have a crack at casting some bigish (for me anyway) parts for the CNC machine I've been building. Love the spin trap etc. Peace, Bongo.
Thanks Sir Stephen. 😄 How is it your channel has never been recommended to me? RU-vid, sometimes it's awesome. ☹️ I'm looking through your library now. You gotta love those spin traps. Don't hesitate to email if you ever want to go deeper on any of the casting stuff. Always happy to chat, even help on occasion 😄
Great video, are you ever concerned with the metal dust that gets blown around the shop if you are cutting or polishing some metal? I'm hesitant to grind any metal in my workspace. I just wanted to know if you have any way of cleaning the metal dust.
I sand aluminum so infrequently and in such small quantities that I have never worried about it. I suppose now that I have 600 masks I should start wearing one when I sand.
@@swdweeb hehe true. Im mostly early to watch you guys.. Hehe. I just started my channel last weekend. So i can keep myself also busy, gona try your tips soon
Hey just started watching your channel and I'm liking it! BigstackD recommended it to me since I'm just starting out pouring gold, silver, copper, aluminum, and lead. I'm looking forward to watching any instructional videos you have😁
Wouldn't it have been easier to bring the badge to the furnace ? 🤔 Great vid as always... Just binged a couple of hours of Julian's vids... Great guy too...
With my knees, no. If I had have crawled around that thing drilling, tapping and trying to get those screws in I wouldn't have been able to walk for a week
The furnace weight?? Heavy 😄 I haven't tried to put it on a scale. I would guess 70-80lbs (30-35kg) Keep in mind, I'm old 😄 It would be fun if the Devil Forge guys would comment
