Thank you for the castle visit, I enjoyed that. On my first trip to England we followed several signs for castles and abbeys and nearly all were a sign of information and a pile of rocks. Mind in NZ they'd be a pile of rocks, but not from wars just shaky ground. When you were up by those walls I felt like shouting move back, danger if there's an earthquake those walls will fall on you. Thanks for the video.

Morning Will and what a soggy one! I watched Simon Fordman. Very good, quite a snappy editor, and I think he covers more at a greater speed than if he added dialogue. The green Mercedes W123 240D B10 diesel. And you can hear the birds tweeting in the background like your vlogs. I see CRT suggest work on the tidal gate is expected to take ten weeks and start in October. You were unlucky to pick the year it broke I guess. The area around the canal will be getting a lot of vlog coverage then. I don't mind a degree of repeated coverage as views change with the seasons anyway. Chin up. Regards. Paul 👍👍

After the Civil War Cromwell had many of the castles "Slighted" (the period term for making the castle indefensible) to prevent them being used to support a counter-revolution, that did not mean flattening the castle totally, but just significant damage to thhem. After that the locals used them as a source for stone for building and the effects of 400 years of weather and neglkect did the resr.

I found a Orange Le Creuset griddle pan in Lymm at a charity shop for £25 they cost about £160 new It’s fantastic for chicken or Steak but I couldn’t justify paying full price for it even though it’s probably worth it now I’ve used it

These old structures were raided for the stone The farm houses on the Roman wall are built with it Just imagine you are a builder 300 years ago there is lots of dressed stone in an old castle or wall you would help yourself as then there would be no English Heritage or National Trust with preservation orders to stop you

Yes sorry Will, in Kent we have only recently (September) had a few rainy and stormy days. July and August were dry. I love the rain, however we have no canals in Kent apart from the military canal in Hythe. Best wishes Christine x

Hey Will. At around the @16:10 mark, I thought you might pinch her on the bum. 😂 As far as the trash and junk thrown around the castle, like they say, we grow old too fast and wise too slow. My birthday was Monday and I'm still waiting on that wisdom to wash over me before it's too late, which it may already be. 😄 Also, I love Werther's candy. I like just about all of them but prefer the original ones without the filling. It really breaks my heart to see how the canals aren't being kept up like they should and funding for them is being cut... and I don't even live in the UK! 😲 I can only hope that the current political winds change, and politicians (and people) will begin to realize we have to care for more than just ourselves, that we have to care for, preserve and learn from things like history. Breach on the canal not repaired yet Will. I believe CRT said they were sorting something out so boats which were stuck on the canal could get through. Although I haven’t seen any boats pass us at bridge 30 and one or two that did came back. So I assume you are still on the Lancaster. Take care 🤗
