I love this scene so much...first of all: Stana singing. Why doesn't she do that more often?! Andrew, let her sing!! And it shows that great friendship and very special relationship between these guys, i love it :)
When i found out that the old haunt became the go to bar for the team i was so happy, a little reminder of this ending each time they mention it. Wich is not very often but hey i take what i can get

They all sing so good together! They are all in harmony and its both awesome and sweet. Love Castle. Its the best show EVER. In the history of the universe.
I wish Montgomery could have seen Caskett together. He would have loved that. I feel like he was a real father figure to Beckett, in some ways more than Jim, because he understood the job in a way Jim never will and was always able to give Kate good advice because of it. He was one of the few people Beckett actually listened to and he always wanted what was best for her. I think he wanted her to be okay, because she's a good person and he felt responsible for her pain.
Favorite tag scene of all hundred-something episodes (and that's saying something), and yet another example of why fans are begging for a musical episode. Every cast member can sing (and I know Seamus and Jon both love to sing on stage) and/or play an instrument (including Tamala, Molly, and Susan), so Marlowe and company need to go for it. On the flip side, I really miss Capt. Montgomery too. He was part of the family.
"Castle" has been off the air for some years now, but it was a GREAT show in its first few years (when Roy Montgomery was captain; I couldn't stand Gates. Thank God they allowed Montgomery a hero's death; I damn near bawled). The five of them (six with Lainie) were a real family, doing valuable work that really mattered. ("The Blue Butterfly" was the series high point, especially since it guest-starred Mark Pellegrino, who has been an acting god of mine ever since "Supernatural"). Too bad the show eventually went off the track, with its gaudy, overblown James Bond supervillains, not to mention Castle's amnesia. (Rule of thumb: when screenwriters become desperate enough to fall back on amnesia, it's time to turn the lights out and go home).
I came here after watching/hearing the same song in criminal minds and even though I love CM my ears were bleeding but with Castle I was like 'Hmmm this is BAE life'
Finally some singing from Nathan!! :D After I saw D.r Horrible's Sing-Along Blog, I've just been hoping that Nathan will sing again, 'cause it's so funny when he sings there, and he actually have a pretty nice voice ;) I'm hoping for more!
This right here is why this is my favorite episode. I love any episode where they have to dig into the city's history, especially with old buildings that have personality and hidden rooms and passageways. And this will always be the best ending. A group of close friends, walking arm in arm to go crack open a victory drink while singing Billy Joel. Yup, best of the bunch
*contnd I also feel like Castle brings out the best in Beckett most of the time. He got her to have fun again. When he met her she was all work and no play but he brought out the playful, teasing side in her that by season 2 she's able to outdo him. He also gets her to relax and pamper herself, doing what Nikki Heat would do after a tough case. Here he gets her to sing and I think it's in ep. 14 that she takes out her guitar and sings and plays of her own accord.
Ya know, if Castle and Beckett were to sing "you're the one that i want" from grease, my life would be complete. Oh, and captain comes back to life and they all sing "we go together." That would be even better. :)
this singular scene will always resonate with me, being a Nathan Fillion fan, and a Castle fan, it will always show the tight-bound family relationship Montgomery, Ryan, Esposito, Beckett, and Castle have with eachother.
One of the best tv shows back in the days. I’m 20yo and loved watching it with my mom in the morning before school :):) was super sad when it was canceled though :(
Ceridet to the show for using such a timeless classic such as piano man by bill joel for such an apporpiate episode. Huge fan of both the song and show. also the song refram finishes with "and you've got us feelin alright."
When Kate asks Castle if he bought the Old Haunt she has such admiration in her voice!! I love this song! I love Ryan's voice!!! and Kate's and everyone's!!! Thank you so much!!
I just listened to the whole Piano Man song and I just got the "9 o'clock on a Saturday night". At first, I just thought it was Esposito being Esposito, but no, it's Castle brilliance at it's best. It's moments like these that make you wish that TV didn't romanticize Homicides and that make you feel all warm and fuzzy on the inside. They have amazing chemistry and amazing voices. This = love.
