I don't understand why some people are so paranoid about Nathan's weight. He doesn't need to do anything about it. He's perfect just as he is. He doesn't need to loose weight when he has that sultry voice and besides he's a talented actor and seems to be a really nice guy. I just love him so much!
Geez why should he look like a model or a body builder??! He looks great and he actually has a brain when he speaks, he's witty and funny. I just love him!
he did read it. he actually joined the ranks of folks pestering Martin to finish the next book faster LOL I remember he tweeted smth like "book 6 isn't gonna write itself. Love,Nathan" LOL
Can I just say how much I love his voice.. and his face.. and his everything. Nathan comes across as so real and normal that it leaves other "stars" in the dust.
jesus, i love you nathan. i just do. there's no explanation. and i just finished season 1 of game of thrones so i completely understand nathan's geek out. had to cover my ears for his spoiler alert though haha.
Nathan Fillion is the next sexy James Bond. The first choice for James Bond. He is a beautiful and faboulos actor. He had a wondergul smile, beautyful blue eyes and he is very, very charmend and attractive
If you're one of his fans, then the least you can do is support him, whether he decides to lose a couple of pounds or not ( and obviously he's happy the way he is ) Plus, he's not even fat anyway.
Seriously, I love this guy Nathan a lot... more and more. :) And I don't want to explain why I love Nathan... I just love him. Simple. Straight. And Sweet. :)
Love A Song of Ice and Fire, the show is really cool but books are better. Books are almost always better ;) And World War Z is an amazing book, incredibly well researched and thought-out, rereading it now. It's so cool to know that Nathan Fillion feels the same, I really like this dude. My kinda guy - smart, self-deprecating, nice and a good actor. Oh, and he loves Monty Python! Dude just gets cooler and cooler.
It's also about the double standard. If Stana had put on 30-40 lbs, people would be screaming much more and I'm sure the network execs would put their foot down. Fillion is being paid very well to portray a dashing writer...staying fit is part of that. As others have said, wanting him to lose weight isn't being mean. He's still a charming, nice, intelligent, good actor AND would look much better losing some weight....and it would be better for his health.
I don't even find Nathan to be fat. I think he's more broad rather than "fat", to be honest. Regardless, I still love him and like you said, he's so damn perfect that they have to find some possible fault ;) Though, they're wrong :P LOL.
I agree to a certain degree. I agree to the fact that actors and actresses are forced to keep a certain body type to be more pleasing to the eye. But i disagree on the fact that the producers and network execs are purely focused on Stana. The network execs and producers run the show and they would have spoken up if they had a problem with his weight. Maybe just maybe Marlowe pictured Castle as Nathan is now.
Nathan Fillion is one of the few men who actually have BRAINS inside their heads. And that alone is damn sexy. Who cares if he doesn't look like a model ???
I love the guy, but I find myself unable not to notice how the ruggedly handsome guy from Castle's first season had his looks changed so much. Stana's gorgeous as ever and I want Nathan to look as good. One of his responsibilities as an actor playing Castle is to stay in shape as he's supposed to play "handsome" character.
i think he should aim for the season one physique because lets be honest he is certainly on the chubby side i hope he doesn't gain more weight but people saying that the kate castle pairing won't be realistic. Have you guys seen tv show chuck? nerdy dude hooking up with a ultra sexy agent. Who would have thought uh?
As much I like Nathan Fillion, I do admit that he have a weight problem, it is difficult if he doesn't have an exercise routine & do not eat well, now 14, 16 hours of work do not help. But I think he should make an effort to take care of himself. Albeit he is so charming! But the camera is unforgiven.
if i ever meet him i'd hug him real tight and stay in his strong arms forever! hmmmm yummy, he's tall looks like a healthy normal guy with broad shoulder, i think its a little bit unrealistic to expect him to look like he did in firefly, heck i don't look the way i did in high school

Apparently his new girlfriend is a sports enthusiast and works out regularly. Hopefully, she'll be a good influence on him and help him shed some pounds.
JK Rowling has a great point, it is of course not as worse or more. Americans, and specifically Hollywood is over focused on it as it stems from the early days of Goldwyn Studios. The studios have wanted a type- a perfect look and then they trained the actors/actresses. Of course the English don't focus on it because they're more concerned with the craft which is probably why they have the best actors. I personally don't care about Nathan's weight, his talent surpasses his physique. :)
See how awesum we are? We completely swamp those tasteless comments with our boundless love for this adorkable man. See how none of the rebuttals are about bashing the guys who say bad things about nathan? That's the hallmark of a truly love inspiring show. Though I have to say I'm a bit worried that he's gaining a bit too much weight. As people age past 40, it starts to take a lot more work to control weight. And if he's starting off like thiIs... I can't stop going back to 5:09 geek nathan 8D
Why is it so difficult for his rabid fans to admit that he is overweight and could stand to lose about 20 lbs? Saying that doesn't mean he's not a charming, sweet, funny, kind person; it is just being realistic and saying he's gained weight and for a certain portion of Castle fans, it's becoming distracting. I'm surprised the the network executives haven't addressed this issue with him. And please...41 years old is no excuse. Robert Downey junior is older and he's in shape.
And you are so obsessed with seeing shirtless Castle in Season 5 why, exactly?.. :-)) Will it ruin the series for you if you won't see him shirtless or will see his "man boobs'? BTW, Nathan has always been a big guy and had "man boobs" seen through his shirt even when he was much younger. With his type of physique it's only natural that he looks a bit chunkier with age. There's nothing unhealthy or ugly in the way he looks. If you don't like stout-built men - well, it's your problem, not theirs.
Chubby should never be an issue....shame on u....he will has waited 4 years.....come on now .....it will fade away...and both will have slick sweaty bodies. No worries .....now stop chucking rocks....

Or perhaps true fans would want to support Nathan in losing weight. He's definitely overweight and it's not good for his health. Denying he's overweight is just silly.
