Tom is a very unique talent. I am NOT a fan of rap, but his songs have a message that hits home with so many people. In all honesty, Snowflake is my favorite of his.
This kind of music is not my cup of tea but I can truly admire anyone who tries to make a difference with their music! Truly inspiring lyrics. Another reason I love home free so much, they take their chances to sing sometime controversial songs to make a difference. Tom said that these are stories of people he knew when he was struggling with his own problems in South Central. He hasn't forgotten his past, the people he knew, and he still cares about them. He wrote this song to remind us that all of us have our struggles and to never feel alone in them.
I think that's my favourite Tom MacDonald song I've heard so far. Both tune and lyrics. Great chorus too. It's funny, I was listening to Streets of London by Ralph McTell today (I'm sure you know that one?) and it's kind of in the same vein lyrically. The sad thing is it was written 50 odd years ago and it's just as relevant today.
