I bought this game a long time ago but never could find any friends that wanted to play. I would have loved to experience this first hand. The levels are so awesome. Glad I watched this. Thanks!
@A. M. Hostile much? Besides, it went 3D back in the 90's. Long before the series dried up, and we had great 2D entries afterward. Stop projecting your hate and bias as fact. Besides, Curse of Darkness is amazing. It's 3D Castlevania done right. Environments are a bit same-y, but the gameplay is solid. Unlike God of Colossus 1 and 2.
Is there a place that has all the tech shown of in this video consolidated? This game has some seriously interesting and deep mechanics! That level 2 boss fight was amazing. How did you stay in the air like that?
He used the medusa head soul. Lets you float in place spending mana over time. It can trivialize a lot of bosses. Especially Legion you can see he floats in between the core and the ends of the tentacles, in which he literally physically can't hit you.
The irony in this. Soma (who is the reincarnation of dracula,) paired with Jonathan Morris, a family member of a sub clan of the Belmonts, destined to kill dracula before 1999.
Why not Fool's Tablet if you're on xbox, there's far less risk than it carries on PS3. Also, why no Jonathan zip on Chap 7 to skip the elevators and go straight to the boss? Or zip in Ch2 to get to the boss area faster too? I feel that a zip off the chandeliers is faster than waiting for the other player to feather gear zip in and open the way. No Muramasa+1s for Chap 10? If you double up you can backdash cancel super fast on Dracula. An easy setup for the 10 zip is to backdash from the left wall, puts you at a very consistent point so you just have to jump time rather than align manually. Double muramasa+1, zerker mail, and final guard for safety should tear apart Drac. And finally, there's a chapter 11 zip (Jonathan only I think, but you might be able to do it with Julius magpoints, don't play him though), that can take you straight to final boss without facing off against the sub-bosses. Lotta time to save, but good run.
Yea, we are aware of all of those zips. We routed this primarily for a live event that we want to play this at, and only recently picked up running the game. With that in mind: 1. Still farming Muramasa+1 2. The other zips you mentioned are very inconsistent for us, and right now we are focusing on doing ones that we can hit fairly reliably so that the live run can look smoother. 3. If you're asking about Fool's Tablet for Jonathan, most of the stages he is only being used to speed up the stage in some way. For Soma, I just prefer Miser Rings for a live run. We look to cut off several minutes and implement better strategies/skips in some spots if we end up sticking with the run. This was one of our first days of attempts.
Gotcha. I mostly play Jonathan (PS3) so zip setups are easy, but it definitely took a while and a lot of messing around solo originally. Don't forget to double down on Muramasa+1 if you do stick with it, the way the attack's "cloud" lingers means that you actually get faster attacks by backdash cancelling while alternating two separate ones.
Run Julius instead of Jonathan. Omnia is going to be faster than any moving in the game. Except maybe fast Omnia but it is inconsistent if you don't do it correctly.
I've been playin this game on and off alone, xbox live isnt worth the 10% chance per day to meet with one other person to play with. I'm just happy getting Luminatio and Muramasa from Ryuk on normal, hard he has never given me anything
I play on xbox and I notice in EST you get a decent amount of Japanese players between 9am and 12pm (it'll be the same people though so hopefully you get along with them). I can't find an american player hardly ever
