The voice acting made a lot of people give this game an 8/10 instead of something higher. Still, I'd like to give this game a chance... hmm, and now that it's on the PSN and all...
geekfatigue Yep...the japanese acting was good trough,the US version had the option to change the voices,but the PAL version doesn't and i think that's bullshit
@@SolidSnake11Official You make it sound like the US voice acting is abysmal compared to the Japanese voice acting. I've heard voice acting that is much worse in other games... Actually, I'd say the worst voice acting I've ever heard is the Japanese dub of KH2. Yes, the Japanese voice acting was somehow worse than the US version.
I can't be the only with this massive DMC1 vibe emanating from this trailer, right? Like I know castlevania came out WAAAY in the 90s but I cant help but feel as though this game was inspired by DMC1 in some ways
@bulbinking Actually i dissagre with what i said about this. Cuz i did just look at this trailer and hadn't played Lords of shadow back then. So i just thought this was a simple hack'n slash action game. Now i know i was wrong. And about Metroid Other M i will never play that. I love Super Metroid and Metroid Prime. But that game seems shit. I will delete that comment now.
@thanksbetotap Not so. LoI's gameplay is clearly based off of previous Castlevania games, one of which, Simon's Quest, came out in the 1980's. So I could turn this around and say that DMC ripped off of Castlevania. What I mean to say is, who the Hell cares? You could probably point to 90% of all games and claim that they are 'rip-offs'.
@Erghest But the thing i'm trying to say is that. Every hack'n slash games that are coming out are an instant GOW ripp-off according to almost everyone. They are always comparing new games with GOW wich is wrong when DMC and Lamnet of innocence was out before that.

I dunno I didn't really keep up when they started getting more into Anime style things and super magic shit. I enjoy the classic "Whip zombies and skeletons" that the old ones had. Thinking about it, I might to back and get the GBA and DS Castlevania games. But Super 4 is the daddy atm for me,
C'mon Konami, betray Nintendo... Bunch of backstabbers... The Gamecube could have had this game easily, and Castlevania had always been on Nintendo, but they HAD to develop it for the PS2...

OH god i love this game sooooo much! It's a pity that it was underated and not so many ppl plays it.... Leon needs some respect! hes the former creator of the Belmont Clan! Without him there'll never be Super Castlevania 4, or godamn Simon and Ritcher!

I liked this game at first, but I started to hate it so I sold it. Then I bought CV Curse of Darkness and I found it MUCH better than this game. I still have it (curse of darkness), but damn... I want to play this game again...
One of the most epic trailers of any Castlevania. The music and voice acting is amazing and "I'll kill you AND the night!" is such a bad ass line! The game was also fun, the best 3D Castlevania in my opinion.
You guys shut up with all this Clone crap. Just because your older brother is from the same Family as you, it doesnt mean you are his clone. Same goes for Castlevania, GoW and DMC.
@rajlle So true!, GOW fanboys are a thickheaded bunch that you can't reason with, if a game resembles their precious GOW in any way possible they go full throttle shouting GOW RIPP-OFF!
@rajlle Agreed. God of War is typical hack'n'slash fare, just with a slightly different visual style. If anything, GOW is ripping off Legacy of Kain. Just saying...
...i dunno' it just didn't seem like a castlevania title to me. it seemed like it lacked something but i can't think of what it was. it's still a pretty good game though.
Also ironic that the same guy who voices Mathias (the evil guy in this game) voices Alucard (a good guy with no relations to CV's Alucard) from Hellsing
It uses elements from other series it has no reason to, like God of War, Shadow of the Colossus, and Uncharted; its music is horrible and generic;, its entire look and atmosphere is completely different from what makes Castlevania what it is; (other than the castle) everything looks like its from The Lord of the Rings or Pan's Labyrinth.
@locsaretheshit I like the first two games a bit to be honest, But i will try out the third one soon. It's still on fullprice in sweden and i will never pay full price for that game.
@rajlle this is nothing like God of war boss battles theres no climbing the monster, its mainly button mashing like the rest of the game. Lets not even compare god of war to castle vania. What people say about god of war and castlevania lords of shadow is pretty valid though. It doesn't really feel like castlevania. theres no free roaming and no dracula, and 1/3 rd of the game is in the castle... castlevania has been terrible as soon as it turned 3d. I hope one day that will change.
it also rips off dantes infero sappy love story with dead wife religious references EVERYWHERE yet hardly any goth stuff final fight with satan and don't forget the grapple whip thing, thats straight from dantes inferno it so sad... konami must have had its best designs leave, either that or they are running out of ideas also, LoZ:TP I know what you are thinking "how did it rip off zelda?!?!" remember the goblins riding on the giant warthog? yep, they actually went there

I love Legacy of Darkness, but Lament of Innocence had better story, art, and gameplay. I'll give Legacy of Darkness the characters though. It also had better level design (no copy pasted rooms).
