Now let's hope for a Harmony of Despair remake so we can have almost the whole Castlevania cast do this. Even better if it came with all the DLC so we can have this song also.
@@ikagura Chronicles and Rondo of Blood's soundtracks are so upbeat and funky! Fitting considering the games are full of weird things and gags like caterpillars and giant birthday cakes.
To me this is what makes Castlevania sound like Castlevania; it KNOWS it's a creepy jaunt based off Halloween-esque cliches, and doesn't take itself so darned seriously. Even Vampire Killer sounds like this. It's about fun.
Exactly. That's one of the things i love about Castlevania. I would say the best examples as far as funky music are Symphony of the Night, x68000, Rondo of Blood, and Chronicles.
@@GreyWind1988 YESS AGREED XD I getcha Every time I hear the names Jonathon or Charlotte, I have to imagine this here, switching between them rapidly XD And hope you're doing well, 4 years later! ^^
+Cool Diavolo Yeah Rich's post was referencing what they both shout when you swap them out. PoR has a partner system. The following posts are references to what both of them shout when you use a dual item crash with a certain subweapon.
I'll be honest, my least favorite thing about this game is Wind's quests. They were vague in terms of objective and sometimes cryptic with requirements. But what made them worth it was getting to hear Invitation of a Crazed Moon every time I went back. I love this piece so much.
This sounds like the intro theme to a late 80s/early 90s TV show. Like, I can literally envision the cast members' names and faces being shown while this song plays.
This is my second Castlevania game. I finished 2 weeks ago Order of Ecclesia and absolutely loved it. I know this game will be good if it starts with this banger.
For those saying this could be a Jojo's Bizarre Adventure opening. Fun fact in POR while playing as Jonathan if you held up on the d-pad long enough Jonathan would do one of Jonathan Joestar's poses.
I was going to say I feel old but then I realised I was in the last year of primary school myself when this dropped, only played it like 5 years ago though
Got this game just after school breakup (2007), went away on holiday in France and stayed at an old bed and breakfast Chateau that had legit renaissance paintings, knights in armour, was like VR Castlevania 😂
Castlevania was one of the franchise popular for its music; why is it a surprise? It's a testament to a time when videogame music were VIDEOGAME music and not trying to be some epic forgettable orchestral that blends into the background.
I love you Charlotte Aulin. :] I consider this her track, because she's all I played as. Jonathan's track I consider to be Victorian Fear, the first painting world track. Jonathan was actually really cool. He had awesome animations, the weapons were tight and top notch, the skill tree was super fun, and he looked like a badass. But... Charlotte.
@@naturalharmoniagropius3262 Blues scale…? Heck if I know anything about music technicisms; if you say so, I'll just assume that you are most likely right :/
The start song of the first Castlevania that I play. The concept of a castle with terrorific monsters comander for the most famous vampire create the prejudice that it is a terror game. But it's lively and energetic music erase the fear.
@@splatinum837 Well, hope yer aware of the two Bloodstained games; they're made by the people who used to make Castlevania (they left Konami, with Castlevania's daddy Koji Igarashi leading the charge, because fuck Konami), even Castlevania's legendary music composer (Michiru Yamane) worked on both. Curse of the Moon is a really good ClassicVania, Ritual of the Night is a freaking amazing Metroidvania. : )
listening to this reminds me of when i was 4. thats when i first got a DS and got this game. it makes me sad remembering i can never go back to those days....
when i was younger i used to sneak my DS to play at night XDDD thats the only song i would allow myself to up the volume because i did not want to get caught XD
If anyone here played Yakuza, I can imagine Jonathan dancing in the disco with this in the background. And yes, I am including the Kiryu kneel-and-point pose.
Ah the game that gave me nightmares by simply watching a playthough. This song is like a creepy nostalgia that just ripples down my spine... Oh, the song? See description above.
