*starts game* ''Well... this is kinda creepy.'' *walks inside castle and this song starts playing after some seconds* ''Hell yeah! Let's kick some ass!''
This is still the best Castlevania game ever. For those who played it remember that time when this song was playing, then suddenly your character levels up! Man it felt great!
same tbh. tell me lost paintings doesn't make you think of christmas immediately. loved this, prayer and tragic prince too. well, the whole ost was amazing
Probably the best castlevania game. Too bad everyone selling a legit copy are miserable little piles of secrets who sell it for completely insane prices
I was thinking the same thing, but now Konami is selling it for $3 on mobile. I've heard that as long as you use a Bluetooth controller, you're all set. Can't wait to play it, and good luck finding a copy somewhere!

Can confirm, picked it up for the first time a few weeks back and while not the game I play all the time it does tend to eat up my afternoons when I boot it up. It just looks so GOOD! Every single action has a confidence that makes even jumping enjoyable.
Yeah 99% of the NES library and a good chunk of the SNES library is only good because people who played it when they were kids said it is. SOTN is not one of those games.
I remember one time when a kid saw me playing this game and called me and the game lame-o. All he knows is fortnite. CCould have punched him, but thats not what Alucard would want.
The game starts you off with these badass weapons that kills everyone in 1 hit. When Death takes your stuff away, you’re left weak and underpowered. You’d expect the music to reflect that but it doesn’t. This song eggs you on telling you, “the journey will be tough but you can make it, keep moving forward.”
If you purposely take off your gear you can make it so a worg launches you right through death robbing you. Then you get to play with the full gear through the run.
@@nathanniesche6380 Doesn't it also do the same thing if you reduce your hp below a threshold? Pretty sure you can pull it off on first run if you make sure not to level up as you run towards the last scene transition to the boss battle
Death: You shall regret those words! We will meet again! (Takes away all of Alucard's items.) Ah ha ha ha ha!! (Alucard comes back later with more overpowered stats and weapons.) Death: ....Oh shit.......
+PaulNat360 If by cheat him you mean skip the scenario where you meet him and keep your weapons; yes it's real. Ive done it on my original copy. You need to reach the third corridor before meeting him and then jump over the third warg. Unequip pretty much everything and let the warg attack you as you face him; which will send you flying so far youll go past the screen where you meet death the first time and you can keep your weapons. (just ignore it for now until you reach the alchemy labs first.) This seems to work on the original; but the Chronicles version and releases on stuff like PSN and XBox Live don't seem to.
cant you somehow bug out of the castle with that sword transformation weapon and get 213% that way? idk if it was this dracula, might as well be dracula x. its the only thing i know of the whole series xD
Este tema merece cada una de mis lágrimas, gracias a este tema descubrí que en el mundo maravilloso de los juegos puedo ser el héroe que eh querido ser
I remember the first day I played this game, I had just come back from a long day of collage ready to enjoy the weekend, I drove home on a rainy afternoon, and I’m talking thunderstorms, I popped this sucker into my console to play it for the first time, and the minute I got into the castle, it was super ominous, slashing everything with one hit with Alucard was so satisfying, the mood was eerie with no music at first, but then once I got into the first doorway and I heard this theme, it was magical, I played through the whole rainy night, and it was amazing!
Alucard was planned to be playable like Simon and Richter (also Alucard was planned after Simon and Richter where finished), but in last instance they decided to make him a throphy assistant because they believed that he wasn't going to be used as much as Simon or Richter (and it seems that they couldn't find a way of making him a Final Smash), but at least they decided to left him as a throphy assistant (still is disapointing that they didn't make him a playable character, but hey, they make something gracious with dialogues by making him appearing when talking about Richter).
The game hits the ground running with this music. Just absolutely outstanding. The rest of the soundtrack is excellent as well. Lots of great memories playing this back in 1997.
Technology How it Has Changed Since The 90's With Elder Scroll's And Pretty Much Every Game Old School Playstation Was Really Far Back So Was Old School Nintendo Time's Changed After The Xbox Came On The Scene The Closet To The Xbox Back Then Was The Dreamcast Or A Window's PC
Imagine being able to whip at all directions in super castlevania 4, and thinking "It can't get better than this". Then you get a PlayStation and experience this.
Video Game's are Definitely more Technically Complex than the 1980s and 1990s people in 2022 want Cinematic Like Game's this has been the Future Since the 2010s and is getting More Complex every Ten Years or so 2020s 2030s Etc Game's were really Simple in the 1900s than Today's Game's
Ohaider Richter! I still prefer your ancestor Simon over you in Smash Ultimate, but you’re cool too! Just have more nostalgia for Simon (and his palette-swapped relative Trevor) thanks to playing the first three games on my NES all those years ago. 😜
I downloaded this game off of the PSN a few months ago and I absolutely love it :D And this music was awesome! I kept going back to the hall of the castle just to hear this music.
IMO, this is the most epic part of the game. It’s dark and you’re slaying giant wolves then the lights come on and this music starts playing. It’s as if the castle comes alive, acknowledges your presence, accepts your challenge, and says HAVE AT YOU!
Didn’t play this until my teen years about almost ten years after the game released. Was blown away at the quality of animation in the sprite-work as soon as i took control of Richter. Such an epic game.
school teacher: okay class, on monday we shall have a trip to dracula castle to uncover the truth about the legends. Girls: Booo!, We hate old vampires!. Boys:
Castlevania SOTN was amazing, I remember playing it so much as a little kid obsessed with beating it to get to play as Richter , then I found the sega Saturn version where you can play as Maria . Such a great game .
the first moment you heard this tune you didn't realize that it was a actually a save point in your head, now everytime you listen to this, you'll be back to that same moment in time.
@@TheKirby4 Average Gamer Was Born Before The 2000s 1980s To 1990s And 2000 Because They Grew Up With Gaming I Was Alive In 1994 Mean I'm Becoming Really Fucking Old
Well, it was the Dark Ages of 2000 and PS and Xbox. To me, the good Castlevania games range from I to XII, Haunted Castle, Akumajou Densetsu, and The Adventure Rebirth. And heck, maybe even the Belmont’s revenge; give Christopher a chance.
@@Marcusdeverdade Not really, Konami is doing more than fine. The video game branch is only a small part of their whole company. Which of course is unfortunate for us gamers...
Without a doubt, when I hear that song, tears of emotion come to my eyes to be the best game in the world and I still play it in the middle of 2023 I will never get tired of playing it
I literally get goosebumps everytime I hear this. I'll never stop loving this tune, the game was awesome, but this single tune made it stand out forever for me.
From that point forward this OST would become one of the most iconic ones from the series, so much so that it's present in every recent crossover (Smash Ultimate, Dead Cells)
bora zerar castlevania symphony of the night, vou começar amanhã ao 1/2 dia, bora ver quem zera o jogo mais rapido? (sem cheats nem crissaegrim e nem alucard shield).
I like how Castlevania SOTN was one of the few 2d games on the playstation. They were so ready to jump to 3d back then, they totally ignored the fact that 3d graphics at it's dawn were ugly as fuck. A few games like MGS, RE, and SIlent Hill were better off 3d, but for the most part, they should have developed more 2d games. Oh and Doom 2 was still king during the FPS craze of that time.
I used to spend hours leveling up Sword Familiar on the fishmen in the beginning section just to hear this soundtrack, with DARK METAMORPHOSIS and SOUL STEAL mixed in here and there.
I played this for the first time last year when I bought it on PSN, and oh boy am I glad I did. Symphony of the Night is my favorite PS1 and Castlevania game now. :D
