Yupp, there’s definitely a lot of commentary on and criticism of corporatism in Fallout. Cooper saying ‘that’s capitalism’ doesn’t make it true or necessarily mean that the show is saying capitalism is bad. It’s just like how most people either championing or denigrating capitalism/socialism/communism/etc. don’t know what the words mean or what they are really fighting for/against. There’s a good scene/quote with Moldaver in episode 7 which touches on this.

I specifically don't watch trailers so all content is a fresh surprise. I didn't for Fallout and I avoided some things you've been spoiled on by you watching them. No big deal for you but I've managed to skip every single bit of Deadpool 3 content only to have you insert some in this reaction. Thanks.

Republic just means there is a president instead of a monarch, where the political power rests with the public rather than a singular entity. US is also a representative democracy, similar to the kingdom of UK or Sweden (limited monarch power) or king, or republic of France (president). US is not similar to Saudi Arabia (absolute/traditional monarcy) or Democratic (right!) Republic of North Korea (presidential totalitarian dictatorship). Moreover, the US is also a *federal* republic. Both republics and monarchies can be federal (think consisting of several states) or unitary. Edit: Also corporatism doesn't mean what you think it means. How come nobody in the US knows this? The word you're looking for is Corporatocracy. I live with corporatism (form of unionization), one of the better things we have. Even if it has been in a slow decline for decades. Wiki on corporatism:
