Most are pretty terrible because they try focus on the "honor", "glory", and ignoring the fact that we shouldn't have been there. If you want to watch a film that Vietnamese people actually watch about the war, try "The Abandoned Field: Free Fire Zone". It's an oldie and low budget, but it's better than most of the Hollywood trash.
One of the most heartbreaking movies I've seen. That scene where they dragged the girl from her family was horrible. If this really is a true story (of which I can believe), then they deserve to rot in hell.
And it worked. Michael J. Fox was supposed to look like a nice, trustworthy, good hearted young man in contrast to his evil team mates. Michael did great job in this movie. You really felt his fear, anger, helplessness and disgust. It was really heartbreaking moment when he found out the girl beaten up with torn up clothes and hungry.
all wars have the same horrible shit going on within them, in a few decades when people look back on Iraq/Afghan etc in the same way we look back on Vietnam war you'll see films coming out in a similar manner. Well, AI will probably make them films though :')
@@fergal2424 "All wars" doesn't justify the fact the America should've never been in Vietnam or Iraq, and most of what it did in Afghanistan as well. As someone else mentioned, "Redacted" (2007) is the "sister film" to this one. However, at the time of its release, because of the heavy state of American propaganda attempting to depict the Iraq/Afghanistan wars as just wars, it was slandered by a lot of pro-war critics and had a lot of attempted boycotting. As such, its hard to find even a real trailer online.
