SMART Dozer Blades are for cutting, moving and grading dirt, gravel, sand and virtually any other material used as a base. Integrated joysticks and operator assist features help create smooth grades faster and with less operator effort. As a SMART attachment, the machine recognizes the dozer blade and allows for mode select and pattern change using the existing machine joysticks. The SMART Dozer Blade attachment is for use on the Cat 279D3 XPS, 289D3 XPS, 299D3 XPS and 299D3 XE compact track loaders.

It should be set up for 100% dozer control, right joystick does all blade controls, roller wheel does blade angle, left/right does tilt, up/down does blade lift with an option to use loader or tilt for up down. Holding and clicking buttons for 3rd functions is not easy when on the fly.

Yeah exactly, always fluff. Hardly ever seen on a job site. Check out the Scraper Bucket website. That's what you're talking about. A hard clay cutting machine!

Would this blade with all of its functions work on a 289c since there is no LCD display or would it be run different?

You need the latest D3 model of a 279, 289, or 299 compact track loader to run the smart dozer blade.

try to get my point across !!!! CAT is making a huge mistake getting rid of the 257 track machine your going to loose a lot of sales to ASV for that !!!! main reason is the track system !!! CAT should have a option to purchase it with that track system since they are going away with that track i am seriously looking at the NEW ASV for that reason

ASV who? It's been two years since this comment and ASV is even less of a player than it was. Outside of their small machine and their big brushcutting machine you hardly see them anywhere and their dealers are little mom and pop locations that struggle to even get a service truck out to see someone or they barely stock parts.

Why why is your standard single joystick rubbish ? I can see the machine switching all the time. On most videos anywhere !! Its a wate of time for anything precise!!

This is not a good description. Especially your operator is terrible. You can tell how uneven he leaves the material

I don't think he's an operator actually. All these manufacturers have a tendency to put a design engineer in the seat for demonstrations.

I know that. But they should put a real operator in there who actually can run the skid steer and attachment . If I was to judge by this video how this machine and attachment performed by this video I wouldn’t buy the product
