Bought a truck and found that that number 5 injector pushrod is missing. No parts or pieces anywhere. The pushrod is cheap but there is no remains of a pushrod anywhere. Runs fine on 5/6 cylinders. Still looking for the lash spec and procedures for installing the new pushrod
The instructions says there is no adjustment screw on control linkage for number one injector, since it is a reference point for all other injectors. If number one injector was removed or replaced, synchronization on all injectors must be checked and adjusted.
Your video does a good over all job. But when setting up number one injector for the 3.50 calibration block, next when you put the indicator grp on number one with 3.50 block in you should set the travel of the spring pin to 1.25 mm to 2.25 mm for pre-load. then set gauge to number two cylinder and check for 3.50 mm setting. It is in the literature you are referring to. this helps to prevent loose rack travel. The pin in the governor to rack is not in your picture when installing the pin and wedge for setting the rack travel, it zeros off the center of the pin hole. still like your over all presentation and you do refer to the manuals for fallow up. just pointing out where someone could make a mistake if they do not read the manual.
Charlie Brown Yeah, I would. They really were not the best engine Cat ever Built. They were ok in a marine application but not so much so in on-Highway vehicles. The next two generations, 3126 and then C7 were better. Good luck.
I have a 3116 DT Engine with Generator Set. The Diesel is pushing through into the Coolant Water. Even after flushing the Radiator, in no Time it is filled with Diesel again. Any Suggestions? Thanks
My problem is engine starts and runs fine initially, then looses power especially climbing a grade.Fuel has dark color and I do get tiny bubbles in fuel return line.
